...

Well, you remember that the Repubs 'didn't go home on vacation during the August recess' because they wanted to pass (their own version of) an energy bill FOR THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. They said it was needed because the gas prices were so high, so they staged events in DC all during August on energy, and 'drill, drill, drill', etc.

Evidently, the Democrats have their own energy bill (that is not 'drill, drill, drill,') that...according to Repubs...was given to them at 9:45 last night to read (over 200 pages long, which may be the problem, IMO :7 ). It is scheduled for a vote this morning, and there was a period of 30 minutes for one-minute speeches...during which the Repubs were coming to the floor and complaining. It was extended for an extra 20 minutes...after more complaining.

Now, I've noticed that they are in a vote to adjourn...but I didn't see who called for it. It isn't passing...both Dems and Repubs are overwhelmingly voting NO.

On edit: C-Span calling it a 'PROTEST ADJOURNMENT VOTE.'

about no drilling, I made up a FAX to send them and will do more as they have their turn whining and criticizing the Dem's. example:
Stop lying to the American people on more drilling Rep Granger, you know full well that more drilling will do NOTHING to lower gasoline prices. We the people know why you support , more drilling Rep Granger all $335,129.00 reasons.

6. That's CUuute! :) I really hope the American people...
...understand the sides in this battle. These guys represent the same oil companies that Cheney met with at the beginning of the Bush Administration. We have HAD the energy policy the oil companies wanted for EIGHT long years now. THAT is why the gas prices are so high. These Republicans want it to continue...THAT is the battle.

I don't.

10. GOPers routinely call for a vote to adjourn. Several times a day
It is one of their tools they find useful in trying to obstruct House business/waste time to make Dems appear to be "Do Nothing Dems".

11. How about issuing a bunch of arrest warrants for racketeering.
Hopefully that will make them go away for a long time.
