Correction ... changed header and detail

Child killed when tree limb fell while father trimming tree to prevent it from falling on house.

Thanks to TTUBatfan2008 for the correction.

Channel 13 called this the first death in Texas from the storm.

3. It would be a child ...

That's just the way these things go ... the totally innocent, children, pets ...

I'll be okay in Houston proper, but the power is gonna go soon, and I already know all that's going to be going through me head is what is happening out there to living beings that had no choices.

Long night comin'.

22. elehhhhna got herseff a pint of Blue Bell.
That way at least when the power goes out you'll have an excuse to eat something tasty!

Snuggle up with Franky. Poor guy is probably gonna freak with the wind if he isn't already.

24. First advice I got ...

... when I moved to Houston was "in case of Hurricane, eat ice cream."

Works for me. :-)

Franky is already freaked a bit, even with no serious winds. He feels it coming I imagine.

Cooked a salmon steak I had in the freezer earlier. Decided to share it with him. He enjoyed it quite a lot.

Lost power for a bit. Transformer blew not far from here, but it's been back on for last 20 minutes or so. Dunno how long that will last, but I have this need to be connected as long as I can.

Thanks for the thoughts. Take care of yourself.

2. That is an incorrect report...
The child was killed when his father was cutting a tree limb and the child did not move so it fell on him. He was 10 years old. The father was cutting the limb to make sure it did not fall on their house. This occurred this morning from my understanding. KHOU reported on it earlier.

Seems to be too much information going this way and that.

Still tragic. Still a victim.

8. Yes, definitely a victim...
The dad was trimming the tree in order to protect his family from this storm...tragic situation. He was doing the right thing. Life just isn't fair sometimes. :(

15. Doing okay ...

Had the power flash on and off a couple times. Winds picking up a bit.

The kitteh is starting to get a bit anxious. Won't let me be 2 feet away from him. :-)

Y'all doing okay?

26. I don't understand people ...

I really don't.

I like an adrenaline high just as much as the next person, but I do put on the parachute before I jump out of the plane.
