Alaska is key if you're going to conquer and hold on to North America

I mean that Kamchatka could be ready to invade your country at any given time so if protecting North America is important then I'm going to build up my troops in Alaska, Greenland and Central America since those are the countries where other countries can invade from.

Nuff said!!

2. I don't think a few caribou and moose are going to stop Russian tanks from sweeping through Alaska
and occupying Edmonton. Sorry Alberta.

3. BRILLANT!
i love that game...and you speak the strategic truth!

S America was always the easiest to hold...asia is lot of loot, but you will forever be fighting for it...i always took N&S america...then took africa and spread to europe...let the other players fight themselve dry trying to take the big asian prize.

I BET PALIN COULD NOT EVEN UNDERSTAND FREAKING RISK STRATEGY!

4. "S America was always the easiest to hold" - No. Oceania.
But you're right about Asia. No one EVER lives to collect Asia.

7. Sorry the secret to winning is Oceana
You only have one entry though Indonesia so you get Ocean and build from there. The strategy is to not 'blow your load' each turn. Win a territory, get a Risk card, let the next turn go. And never ever play your risk cards first - try to gather all 5 before you turn them in. I start with Ocean, then Siam and then spread to India & China. Believe me, conquering Asia is easy with Ocean as your foothold. You just need to get your feet firmly planted in Kamchatka, Middle East and Ukraine

The Tu-160s will stay for several days

Venezuela's President Hugo Chavez says two Russian bombers have arrived in the country to carry out training flights.

The Russian Air Force said the bombers would be based in Venezuela for several days and fly over neutral waters.

Earlier this week Russia confirmed that it would send a Navy squadron and long- range patrol planes for joint exercises with Venezuela in November.

Mr Chavez has developed close relations with Moscow, including the purchase of Russian arms and co-operation on oil.

Hugo Chavez announced that two Tu-160 bombers would carry out manoeuvres, saying that it was part of a move towards a "multi-polar world".

"I'm going to fly one of those beasts," he joked.

Chavez: Ready to fly

"The Yankee hegemony is finished," he added.

VENEZUELAN President Hugo Chavez expelled the US envoy to Caracas today and threatened to halt crude exports to the US on a day he highlighted the recent arrival of two Russian Tu-160 strategic bombers.

Mr Chavez today ordered US ambassador Patrick Duddy to leave the country within 72 hours, in a move he described as an act of solidarity with Venezuela's ally Bolivia, which also expelled its US envoy.

"Starting at this moment the Yankee ambassador in Caracas has 72 hours to leave Venezuela," Mr Chavez said at a public event in the port city of Puerto Cabello, 120km west of Caracas.

He said it was "in solidarity" with the leftist government of President Evo Morales in Bolivia, which yesterday ordered the US ambassador to La Paz to leave.

Washington late today expelled Bolivia's ambassador to the US.

Mr Chavez then threatened to halt the supply of oil to the US, its main client, if Washington attacks his Government.

"If there is any aggression towards Venezuela" from Washington, "there would be no oil for the people of the United States," said Mr Chavez, who used coarse expletives to disparage the US Government.

Also today Mr Chavez announced that his Government had uncovered a coup plot hatched by active and retired military officers, which he said had tacit US approval.

Do we REALLY want to play these games?

I want to personally put my foot of the asses of both Palin and Mccain.
