When mailing to the same city, address the envelope or package to yourself and put the name of the person you are sending it to where the return address generally goes. Mail it without postage and it will be "returned" to the sender. Because almost all letters are machine processed, any stamp that is the correct size will pass. Those ridiculous free introductory or subscription type letters that you get in the mail often have a postage-guaranteed return postcard for your convenience. The next one you get, paste it on a brick and drop it in the mailbox. The company is required by law to pay the postage. You can also get rid of all your garbage this way.

I just got through walking my dog and picking up his poop in a poop bag. I got the mail and had one of those in my mail also. When I get a credit-card solicitation, I stuff everything they send me, including the ripped-open envelope, into the pre-paid one and mail it back.


Recently I've been adding the blow-in cards from magazines. And the contents of those Val-Pak mailers. "10 Cigars for only $1" and "Make your own beef jerky" and stuff for carpet cleaning.

If I was determined, I could get pieces of sheet steel from work, cut them to fit in the envelope and mail THAT back to them. I'd probably write "DO NOT WANT" on it with a sharpie, too...
