The repubicans have pretty much overplayed the 'evil, liberal media' card this go-round. In the process, they've encountered some ::gasp:: pushback from the Stenographic Drill Team. On some ABC blog someplace, one of their 'bloggers' (hahahaha - as if they knew what that means) says how they twisted what he said.

I've been watching MSNBC, mostly. I heard push back direct to the actual, living, breathing repubicans making the accusation of unfair media treatment of Almost Miss Alaska. Matthews did it. Maddow did it. Olbermann did it. Gregory did it. Scarborough ::double gasp:: did it. Todd did it. Among their targets were Todd Whateverthefuckhiznameis from the campaign, Opie from Florida, even their own Pat Buchanan. There were others, too. Mostly second tier luminary wannabes. But no matter .....

Hired gun Howie Fineman was bitching on MSNBC's air about being called out for it and gave us a litany of his honest dealings with respect to the loving wife of the World's Greatest Snowmobile Driver and Alaska Fishing Man.

Commendable as this may be, will the 'outrage' translate into deeper investigations into Miss Wah! Wah! Wasilla's past? More importantly, will it make onto their network, primo, nightly noozcast?

Or is it all an act?

I've watched this pack of jackals for years.

This feels different. It is still nascent, so I am not prepared to go out on a limb, but their .... mmmmmm ..... 'concern' .... seems real.

On behalf of the media, I would like to say we are sorry.

On behalf of the elite media, I would like to say we are very sorry.

We have asked questions this week that we should never have asked.

We have asked pathetic questions like: Who is Sarah Palin? What is her record? Where does she stand on the issues? And is she is qualified to be a heartbeat away from the presidency?

We have asked mean questions like: How well did John McCain know her before he selected her? How well did his campaign vet her? And was she his first choice?

Bad questions. Bad media. Bad.
