Hey Chuck Todd, the activist parents of Special Needs kids should be shown Palin's record:
Chuck Todd commented about Palin reaching out to the parents of Special Needs children, and commented how they are activist parents. WEll perhaps Mr Todd might want to share Gov Palin's record of support:

Palin Slashed Special Needs Education by 62%

As Governor of Alaska, she oversees Department of Education and Early Development Special Schools in Alaska.
These funds provide supplementary educational services to students with severe disabling conditions and the Alaska Challenge Youth Academy. The resident school where the child would normally be placed does not have the resources to provide an adequate educational program. Without the supplementary services the child’s needs would not be met by the local school district in most cases.

The following programs are included within this component:
Special Education Service Agency (SESA)

The Annual budget for 2007, which preceded Gov. Palin was $8,265,300.

The Annual budget for 2008, enacted by Gov. Palin is $3,156,000.

The Annual budget for 2009, enacted by Gov. Palin is $3,156,000.

This is a cut in special needs services to children in Alaska of 5,109,300 , or 62%."

And this while Alaska enjoys a huge revenue surplus because of the price of oil!

Let's hope the rovian tactic of shaming the media (think: leaving the mics on Noonan & Murphy) will not stop NBC from providing the facts about her record.

3. I want to make sure Chuck Todd isn't shamed into backing down from facts due to the mics.

there are a lot of women (and I assume men as well) who have their heart strings pulled at this topic. Perhaps you are correct that they are aware, but others may not.

I received this info from a friend who supports a special needs brother in a group home setting. She was absolutely outraged at Palin's spin away from her record.

2. The only way any candidate can reach out to parents of...
...special needs children is to enact legislation that answers their biggest question:

What happens to my child when I die?

Anything less than that is pandering.
