So, we now know, there are NO shelters of last resort. People are still driving out on congested roads, indicating that there will still be people sitting on those roads when 70mph winds come on through. ALL looters will be thrown in jail, without a trial or regular Judicial procedures.. most likely, there is a shoot and ask questions later agenda (and I'm sure there will be limited reports on these crucial observations with only CORPRATE media and "officials" on the ground.)

This storm proves once again we live in a Police-State and that the federal GOVT still is ill prepared to handle a hurricane. The CNN-Ken Doll was even taking to task the problems with the levies... AND McCain and his VP run down there to Photo-Op the event. I am so sickened by this country. I am sickened at what it has become.. and Apathetic Pretend Democracy, which is more like a fascist-Religious state.

1. I am praying that there won't be any unnecessary deaths at the hands of
trigger happy cops and blackwater cops. :(

3. So Far, From What I've Seen Their Preparation
amounts to busing people out and threatening them with prison for looting or being out after dark.

6. Which, in my opinion, isn't much of a plan... I've lived in diff states that
have had to deal with the threats of Hurricanes.. I have to say, I was quite impressed with South Carolina... After Hugo, they really worked to make sure everything from building code to a smooth evacuation plan was implemented. Florida, sucks.. Its your life in your own hands. Corruption, cronyism, and people who don't have a freaking clue are in charge.. and it makes for a disaster.. Kinda like Heckuva Job Brownie.

4. Yeah, that guy who from levees.org was kind of dodgy on the question of whether the levees will hold
He had to ask him a couple of times to try to get a straight answer out of him. Then, the only answer he could get out of him was that he hoped that Gustav wouldn't shift 30 miles east from its current track. I guess the levees that would be impacted if Gustav did that would fail on the order of Katrina.
