4. Technically, they're right.
I don't believe Obama has ever placed second in a beauty contest OR made a mooseburger.

How could we have allowed him to get the nomination?

5. And Who Does The Corporate Media Turn To For Comment???
Bob Schrum...a man who couldn't win at solitare, yet an election. He's one of their favorite tools...and I'm grateful he's not involved with this election.

6. Ridiculous
She is a governor of 600,000 people in the state of AK. A medium size city in the rest of the states would be larger than this. The city limits of San Jose, CA has almost a million.

8. That would be executive experience.
She's actually the only one on both tickets who has any.

The counter argument is that her experience is in a small-population area with NONE of the problems faced by the rest of the country. There are plenty of jobs and money in Alaska. The only area that is suffering, the people ruined by the Exxon oil spill...what has she done for them, exactly? Global warming is displacing whole towns in Alaska. Where is her voice for them?

9. I'm not surprised to hear that argument and I wouldn't dismiss it so easily...
...if I were you. The argument will be "She's a governor rather than a legislator-- with executive experience." That's going to be compelling to McCain's base (whoever that is) and to some uncommitted RWers.

10. Well, let's look at that.
She's been governor of a small (population) state for what, two years? Before that she was part-time mayor of a town of 6,000 people. In that short period of time she's managed to get herself investigated by her own state legislature--majority Republican!--for abuse of power. So, yeah, less experience in government, and none in national politics, but WAY more scandal. So, if being investigated for abuse of executive power=experience, she's got it.

11. The only "experience" she really has
Edited on Fri Aug-29-08 02:26 PM by socordsx
is being Governor of a small state (population wise anyway) for a year and a half. Other than shes been a councilwoman and a mayor for a little while. She ran for Lieutenant Governor and lost, then tried to be the successor to a Republican US Senator and was passed over. Thats it!

Not exactly someone I would want a breath away from the Presidency.

Edit: My bad I forgot that she was runner up for Miss Alaska, that just changes everything! Now I'm sold! :sarcasm:

13. Watch it! You know very well
that bald faced lies repeated often enough become "true" in the public mind. The fact that it isn't really true has not one jot or tittle to do with it.

:grr:
