I just visited the American Ex-POWs website

I just visited the American Ex-POWs website
I figured they'd be real happy that one of their own was running for president. I went through that whole website and didn't find one mention of John McCain. So, I downloaded their July/August newsletter. It's probably got a nice write-up on the first POW to run for president. Sure enough, right on the cover--Election 2008! Cool! Turn to that page...it's the election for the president of American Ex-POWs.

Whether it means they don't get involved in politics at all, or that they're embarrassed at "one of their own" turning POW status into a political "card," I don't know.

1. One of the criticisms about Kerry in 2004 was that he ran on his experience in Viet Nam...
and that THAT was the reason he was not successful. May the same "work" with McCain. I'm surprised no one has mentioned this (or at least I haven't heard it).
