Who's Biden? That's what a co-worker asked
I was talking about Michelle's speech(which my co-worker didn't watch) and mentioned Obama's VP pick. She asked me who Biden was. I told her and then started talking about Olbermann. Another co-worker asked who Olbermann was.

I am surrounded by low information voters. I really don't know if they even vote.

One co-worker has admitted that she votes Repub because her husband works for a defense contractor. She said when Repubs are in office her husband is able to work significantly more overtime. That's very telling regarding the Repubs objectives.

I'll keep talking to them.

4. That's not uncommon.
Most Americans don't even know who their own Senator is.

Doesn't really matter what they know as long as they vote Obama.

Just guilt them into it.

I couldn't disagree more with that statement. It matters greatly what they know. Without knowledge they can be duped by the DLC, or even McCane.

Education is the key.

31. "Education is the key"
I couldn't disagree more with that statement. It doesn't matter a nit what they know. They've had ample opportunity to learn and have chosen not too. You aren't going to change that this late in the game.

They're going to have to be led by the nose by someone. It better be us.

Winning is the key.

intentionally created too. It's a lot like a first life, but without real-life-threatening consequences and one is "free" to start over if it all heads south. I'm not a player, but someone I know only comes out of this cyberworld to go to work, go potty, and sometimes to eat, so I wonder if one can donate or get a campaign job, working for Obama "lindens". Exotic cyber dancers, avatar clothing designers, and cyber real estate mogul PACs for Obama.

Course, then I found this:

20. Been My Experience
that most people are low information voters. That's why the Republican message has such appeal...it's marketed to scare and motivate dumb people. It's why Democrats so often face an uphill battle. Obama has gone a long way to change that with Gen-X and younger people, but many of the older generation (on both sides) are still woefully ignorant. Most of your co-workers also probably couldn't:

1. Name the seven continents.
2. Name the three branches of legislature in the US.
3. Tell you who the past five presidents were.

You're going to have to educate them and find ways to get them inolved in the political proccess if you want their attitudes to change. It's annoying, but it's reality.

28. Your OP Is Ridiculous In Conclusion And Quite Closed Minded.
To think that not yet being familiar with Biden (who was just picked) or not knowing Olbermann means one is a low information voter is all sorts of deluded and faulty. My god are you overly judgmental and knee jerky.

30. Oh Please
You just feel like fussing, don't you? Who pissed you off, whoever did it don't take it out on me.

I guess we need to come to an agreement on what a low information voter is. If a person doesn't know who Joe Biden is and they don't know who Olbermann is it's my opinion that they are low information voter.

Apparently I wasn't the only one who called them low information voters. So what Joe Biden was just picked. That's kind of a dumb thing say.

My God are you touchy and grumpy. Ask Him to help you with that.

32. Are you serious?
I assume you're not, because if not knowing who Joe Biden is doesn't qualify as "low-information." I don't know what would. He is not a low-profile Senator, lol.

29. educate
So what if they are underinformed. American culture is designed to encourage underinformedness, especially in politics. Inform them.

I admit if I was asked that question I'd be at a loss. Who is Biden? I've heard his name tossed around for many years, but who is he? I understand he is a smart man with broad foreign policy knowledge. But beyond that, I can't defend the man one way or another.

Anyone? What's an elevator-speech answer to the question "who is Biden"?

saying "you can't tell me who to vote for" she is an american idol fan also. I said look, if you haven't looked into who's running, (because they call me an Obama lover) just don't vote for mccain. There are a lot of other people, just don't vote for him. Hoping that might work, there isn't much brain work going on....and I work in securities.
