Bob Ney (R-OH): Prosecuted for Not Playing Ball with Bush Administration
Transcript of Thom Hartman's Radio interview with Bob Ney

Thom Hartman: You were prosecuted by the Bush Administration for what Ellen has characterized to me as mostly … a political prosecution because you were pushing back on Iran. Can you speak to that? Please?

Ney: At the end of the day, I brought a lot of things on myself and I did some things that were wrong; but I also believe that part of this was fueled in the sense of the Iran issue.

It's been no secret that when I went to prison I gave permission for a secret meeting I'd had with Mr. Gorman who came from Switzerland. He presented a document that was absolutely incredible, where Iran would have recognized Israel and a whole host of other things, would have let our inspectors on their ground; and I said that to the White House; I'll stand by that today; the white house denies it, but Colin Powell's former assistant admits that that came over to the State Department and the White House wanted no part of it.

I believe that every step of the way, andI think it came more from Cheney's people, but every step of the way that I attempted to deal with Iran, it got pretty harsh back. So I think part of this, I gave them the bullets, but I think some of the force was also involved with Iran and people that would rather see those countries not communicate, no matter who is head of Iran.

Hartmann: So Iran came to you, because you speak Farsi and you are the Iran expert in the House of Representatives…

Ney: Ambassador Goolaban, who was ambassador from Switzerland to Iran, he came to me.

Hartmann: Their representative, in other words they approached you through their legal representative…

Ney: And I had participated in the meeting in Stockholm…

Hartmann: And they said that they would recognize Israel and that they would allow UN inspectors into their nuclear sites, and you passed that information along to the White House, it fell down the rabbit hole and immediately you were being prosecuted.

Ney: It, it fell down the rabbit hole, there was a lot of kickback; I know that Gorman had terrible problems after that, I think through mainly Rumsfeld's people and Cheney's people. That's what happened after that agreement.

1. More people in government need to come forward...
...and reveal what these criminals are doing.

There are thousands of people who could sink this administration. Their
secrets are only as safe as long as people continue to be silent.

I imagine this band of thugs has so many enemies. We all know blackmail
is one of their tops weapons of choice.

I can't believe their house of cards has withstood this long.

People need to come forward. It's amazing to me that so many have stood
around and said nothing, while this administration has systematically
dismantled our democracy, bankrupt our nation and started wars that have
killed millions of innocents.

Isn't a bit of fear a small price to pay for saving the world?

4. That presumes
that there's anyone in DC with the power and will to do something about it.

That I haven't even gotten a call back from Waxman's people tells me that there probably aren't any.

5. What did you say to Waxman?
The complicity of nearly everyone is due to 2 possible things:

1.) They're all in on it.

2.) The ones who aren't in on it are being silenced with blackmail or threats.

It's probably an intricate Web of both 1 and 2.

The sad fact is---every, single politician who is in DC now--is either unable or unwilling
to stop a roving band of criminal thugs from destroying our democracy. Maybe we'll never
understand the back story and how silence is guaranteed. This is why we need new leaders
elected to Congress.

The current crop is too entrenched.

8. Didn't get past the flappers
I wrote some data mining software that produced evidence he used in previous hearings. I was (and remain) able to prove that certain statements made by administration figures in front of his committee were false.

The level of interest in what I had to say? Zero. If they had an alternate source for that information they have not produced it in a period of several years.

I am in complete agreement with your analysis of the situation. It seems that as soon as they breathe the air in DC the viral corruption of the culture infects them and destroys any willingness to expose truth and pursue justice. There are a handful of individuals who seem to be immune, and you can identify them by noting who are the most marginalized and powerless of those in office.

9. I totally agree...
...with you that it's the "marginalized and powerless" in DC who are not in on the fix.

The $64,000 question is..will Barack Obama be willing to bust up to this crime ring?

I can only imagine what goes on underground in DC. That place is like a petri dish
for breeding psychopathic behavior.

Obama hasn't been around for that long; not long enough to be folded into the fray.
From everything I've read, he was almost an outsider, in DC circles. He did his
own thing never entered the DC cocktail-party circuit.

A good sign is that Obama has the Congressional moral pillars behind him--Kennedy, Kerry, etc.

Those stalwarts understand very well what has happened to our country. I imagine that
they play along and do the dance--but hoping for change. I think they all know that
Obama could be that chance.

I sure hope so. I really feel that he is our last hope. If he can win this election,
and he is legit--this will save our country. If not, we're doomed.

This guy is a insider in the National Chapter of the Corrupt Bastards Club,
and his current job is probably to run interference and false flags.
