Did Crist eat the seed money for Florida's State Stormwater Insurance?
Today Crist from Florida is asking George Bush to label a Federal disaster area for Florida, presumably to free up some federal money. Someone just told me that Crist needs this assistance because he took the money out of the State's disaster fund for other projects. He took a risk which, if true, is going to kick him in the bootie. Does anybody have information to confirm or deny this information?

3. I think that the government
should not offer any disaster relief to republicans because it's against their belief system. No help from the government. Just suck it up. Be true to your beliefs.

4. Don't count on it.
The money will go to Republican counties. This is an election year.

5. Can't find the one I was looking for....but here is the deal with Buffett
Which is amazing in itself. I am still looking for the one about using the funds. I know I read it.

Warren Buffett is getting 224 million from our state if he promises to lend the state money in an emergency. The 224 million is his either way.

Gov. Crist, CFO Sink approve plan to pay Berkshire Hathaway $224 million for promise of loan if storm strikes this year.

As many Floridians face job losses, foreclosures and exorbitant gas prices in a tumbling economy, Florida leaders this week struck a lucrative deal with the richest man in America.

And while Warren Buffett has secured another financial windfall, critics say it could be a lose-lose deal for the state. Under the agreement - approved by Gov. Charlie Crist and Chief Financial Officer Alex Sink on Tuesday - the state will pay $224 million to Buffett's company, Berkshire Hathaway, in exchange for the promise to lend the state $4 billion if Florida is struck by a major hurricane this year.

If the state does not need to borrow the money, then Buffett pockets the $224 million. If a major storm hits the state, Buffett keeps the $224 million and then loans Florida $4 billion at a 6.5 percent interest rate.
