How long was McSame's membership @ North Phoenix Baptist Church?
I used to go there until I quit. My Dad, deceased since 2001, used to be a Deacon there. Never once did I ever lay eyes on Jack the Baptist. I can't ask Dad, but I do have a story for whomever can give me the answer.

1. 15 years apparently, so since 1992.

"April 25 (Bloomberg) -- John McCain's pastor ends his sermons with an altar call, beckoning any stirred souls to the front of his 3,500-seat``worship center'' to publicly dedicate their lives to Jesus Christ. In McCain's 15 years of attending Dan Yeary's North Phoenix Baptist Church, the pastor says, the Arizona senator has never made that walk.

"... he has never undergone the adult baptism that membership requires."

I can tell you, I've never seen him there. Jack the Baptist, another deceiver, but then I guess you guys knew that. It's all just a say or do anything for a vote, particularly fundies' votes. And since I found the information myself, I'm not going to share my story re Poppy. Neener neener neener.

7. Not being a Baptist I don't understand
Please forgive this unrepentant Lutheran, but I don't understand this statement, "he had never undergone the adult baptism that membership requires".
A--If he is not a baptized Christian how can he be a member of a Baptist congregation?
B--He is 70+ years old and only a member of this congregation for 15 years, I would assume that he was baptized sometime prior to his 55th birthday so why is it an issue with this pastor?
C--Never mind after some research on Baptists and baptism I find that they are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to screwed in the head to be reasonable so it doesn't really matter.

2. How can that church/pastor continue to allowed themselves to be used?
If he's a baptist, he should have the courage of his convictions.

No baptism? No baptist.

Why won't he walk the walk if he wants to talk the talk?

Not consistant enough to be president.

8. McSame calls himself a Baptist because it's politically

expedient with the repuke base. Rolling Stone recently printed an expose of McCain's religious life which stated that he only recently started attending church - after questions were raised about his religious affiliation.

I personally have no interest at all in what church a particular candidate attends or doesn't attend and what (if anything) that candidate believes.

However, I can spot a phony a mile away, and McCain, by professing to be something he isn't, fits that definition nicely.

10. Yeah, the Baptists are a particularly scary sort (from my experience)
I was friends with some in High School and didn't really have any other friends so I started going to church with them on WEdnesday's to their youth thing. Then, I started going on Sundays and every time they would say that about, "Come up to the front and give yourself to Christ..." and my buddies would always be like, go ahead and kind of nudge me up there, and I was always like, "Um, I'm not going to do that." So after a few months of that they stopped talking to me. I guess they failed to fully recruit me so they moved on to other guys without friends. But I did meet some "nice" girls at the True Love Waits thing, so that was a plus. ;)

11. I think many go to services to socialize with like minded.
The ministers yell a bunch and apparently don't like poor people w/o bootstraps and can't see forests, so favor chopping down the trees.

12. I used to go there in the late 80's early 90's and really did not like it.
The church was too big and they were always asking for money, I remember I was 11 or 12 and they were trying to sell me some $100 Bible telling me to ask my parents for it. I was like I already have a Bible thank you very much and my mom can't afford a $100 Bible but they kept pushing.

That Church really turned me off to God for a long time, it was only a lot later in my adulthood that I started to study the Bible again and found a Church that fit more inline with the teachings of Jesus.
