What punishment would fit this crime?

If you were able to be judge & jury, what punishment would you exact for this crime?

rather than the laws on the books - I'd just shoot him

2. Weaken him, make him as frail, and beat him the same way.

That's what he deserves. Not what the STATE should do, but its what he deserves.

Oh, the state doesn't have to do it...

Just make sure the other prisoners know what he did and who he did it to, and they'll take care of the rest, while the prison guards look the other way.

9. Well, I think the usual...

reactions toward something violent to this guy are not all that much better than he is-- justice is not served by killing, maiming, torturing, or whatever, no matter how good it may make you feel for a moment.

Perhaps he should be sentenced to something more like scrubbing the bedpans in a nursing home. (With his tongue?)
