US Rejected Russian UN Statement For Both Sides 'To Renounce The Use Of Force' On 8/8/08
At the bottom of the article (3rd & 4th paragraph from the end - or put another way, the 47th & 48th paragraphs in the article):

"At the request of Russia, the U.N. Security Council held an emergency session in New York but failed to reach consensus early Friday on a Russian-drafted statement.

The council concluded it was at a stalemate after the U.S., Britain and some other members backed the Georgians in rejecting a phrase in the three-sentence draft statement that would have required both sided 'to renounce the use of force,' council diplomats said."

My local M$M newspaper somehow missed this, but they did run an editorial and Op-Ed piece today that all but absolved Georgia of any blame...

2. Bush**'s dirty fingerprints all over this?
Say it ain't so!

What the hell does he care about a few thousand dead civilians. He's got his missile defense shield agreement with Poland now, that's what matters.
