County Approves $1.9M For Ballpark Scoreboard
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A new ballpark in downtown Columbus is taking shape and will soon get a pricey addition.
The scoreboard costs about 25 percent more than the latest minor league ballpark in the country -- Coca-Cola Park just outside of Allentown, Pa.
"This project is on time. This project is under budget," said Commissioner Mary Jo Kilroy.
The commissioners cheered when they announced the last project on Tuesday.
NBC 4's Mike Bowersock researched the numbers for Huntington Park -- compared with Coca-Cola Park. The costs are very similar, both total less than $50 million, and they are both county projects.

While nearly $2 million may sound like a lot of money for a scoreboard, the commissioners said it is worth the cost.
