Too bad the Edwards thing is taking attention away from this:

Inspired by SLAD's post here: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x3764164

Do you guys realize cheeney is behind this? US-back Georgia attacked Russian peacekeepers, killing many of them.

The US, by proxy of Georgia, has launched a direct assault of soveriegn citizens of Russia.

And this poor, poor woman is yet another victim on cheeney's war of the fucking world.

1. That's one theory, and a possibly good one.
Saakashvili has never been the best guy or the most stable, though.

This thing's a mess, and people, good people, are suffering and dying over a freakin' oil pipeline.

3. There are at least 1000 of our best Marines over there and they
were training Georgian troops when South Ossetia was attacked. boosh is at the Olympics acting like a complete licivious and obnoxious fool. Putin is glaring at him from across the Bird's Nest.

Meanwhile, cheeney is left in charge back here in Washington and all of a sudden, BAM! New fucking war. Only this time it's us attacking Russians.

Where the fuck is that going to lead?

12. I'm worried about where this is headed, too.
Some Russians are itching for a fight against the US, and that would be a bad thing for everyone, no matter where the proxy war is fought. Cheney in charge is the last thing we as a country need right now, and I'm worried it's all just going to escalate to all-out war.

2. All too many posts here on DU are missing the provocative Georgia
attack. I do not see what anyone here has to gain through war. And yes I know about the oil pipeline but aren't we just putting that line at risk when we go to war?

4. Not when it's your corporation (Halliburton) that gets to fix it and
then control it.

This has cheeney fingerprints all over. Have we forgotten PNAC's mission? I never once for a moment thought they would stand down on their way out. In fact, I don't think they plan on leaving.

7. Here's your answer - Russian control of oil:
"We have, fourthly, seen instances of possible threats to Georgia from Russia, motivated not so much in reality by any serious territorial problems -- though there are territorial problems between Russia and Georgia -- but derived more from the desire to gain a controlling hand over the Baku - Ceyhan line. If the Georgian government were to be destabilized, Western access to Baku, to the Caspian, and beyond would be limited." - Zbigniew Brzezinski, June 12, 2008.

9. I wonder if Bush and Putin were at the Olympics together to divy
up the remaining oil supplies worldwide with China.....

Putin gets to recapture some of the satellites, we get to go into Iran and China can finish the job on Darfur without interference....

Biden held hearings about Russia and oil in June

malaise's thread about Condi being in Georgia in July, and armed conflict starting then
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x3766315

Condi and Bush and Cheney and Putin and Medvedev all knew this was escalating. Those friendly meetings were Putin were surely no accident.

:tinfoilhat: my head hurts from this week.
