Reille Hunter is Allison Poole from Jay McInerney's "Story of My Life"
Edited on Fri Aug-08-08 09:02 PM by kwassa
so says the Associated Press

http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5jgMig9CKiZV_nm01rUHBampG4ofgD92EE0HO0

Rielle Hunter, a 42-year-old who recently gave birth to a girl who Edwards says is not his, has long been said to be the inspiration for Alison Poole, the "cocaine-addled, sexually voracious" 20-year-old lead character in "My Life Story," Jay McInerney's novel of 1980s excess and degradation.

"She's a nice girl," the New York Post's Page Six gossip column quoted McInerney as saying earlier this week. The author's agent did not return a call Friday from The Associated Press.

Hunter, whose first name is pronounced Riley, used to be "a real party girl" but has calmed down in recent years, McInerney told the Post.

I would say not.

Edited to correct book title, which AP got wrong.

Edited again to add this from Wikipedia:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Story_of_My_Life_(novel)

Jay McInerney has said in interviews that the character of Alison Poole was based on his former girlfriend Rielle Hunter, then named Lisa Druck.<1><2><4>

The character of Alison Poole has also been featured in the novels of Bret Easton Ellis, including American Psycho, in which she is sexually assaulted by the protagonist Patrick Bateman, and plays a major role in Glamorama as the girlfriend of protagonist Victor Ward.<5>

6. I dunno. Is having an affair with one married man (Edwards),
and allegedly having a child by another married man (Young)-calming down?

9. Exactly. She acts just like Monica Lewinsky.
Only you EXPECT this kind of behavior and mindset from a 20-something. Not a 42-year-old.

I'm not going to pronounce him Scum For All Eternity. Sorry.

14. I don't think this should be an issue.
Somehow this is very distasteful - in the way our society always puts women on trial by dragging up the sum of all their previous relationships. In that effort to define all women as Madonna/Whore, I get it - we've cast Elizabeth as Madonna and the girlfriend as "Whore."

It's what we do.

But for chrissakes, posts saying I can forgive him having an affair - but not with a woman who looked like/acting like that, the gathering of evidence to determine if a public stoning is in order, people saying they blame her MORE than him, all of it has something very odd - and at the same time very expected - at its base.

16. So what is up with the civil lawsuit against her in NJ filed Mar. 2008?
And an odd little factoid: Her ex father in law was the DA who was involved in the JonBenet Ramsey case.

And at some point she and her ex husband sold their 21,000 square feet, million dollar home??

How long before her past aquaintances line up to make some money off of her background now that Edwards fessed up?

"Lisa Druck" metamorphs into "Reille Hunter".

The spelling of the first name is tortuous if it's supposed to be "Riley" - this is romance novelist pseudonym stuff

Poor old John just met a voracious Fame Follower and didn't know what happened to him, probably. Trip to Africa, loss of usual compass points, and it all just goes down the toilet.

21. Description on a blog that seems to sum her up pretty well
While I reserved judgment in this case because of a lack of solid evidence, I can’t honestly say I’m surprised. I’ve had the misfortune to meet and work with failed models and actors and party girls like Rielle Hunter, self-important hacks who re-invent themselves up by reading a few books about business, politics or spirituality and then combine that with their fading good looks to acquire a meal ticket (jobs, babies, fame, etc.) from powerful older horndogs like Edwards.

Speaking of which: Vicki Iseman—still missing

Sounds pretty accurate.

AS I told my wife she is probably from money or married into it and is a hanger-on

That still gives Edwards no excuse.
