6. so he wants to go in to the nation that bankrolls his war and crap
and he wants to embarrass them by meeting with dissidents? And he really thought the Chinese would let him?
He could prove his sincerity by meeting with dissidents in, say, the United States of America. This is a nation clearly in danger of losing its human rights.

7. I thought AWOL was in S. Korea today, hence the massive protests there

Isn't he supposed to be in China later this week?

Anyway, I would like to think that his concern for human rights violations in China is genuine but I sincerly doubt he really gives a shit about anyone outside the Bush family. His loyal followers will be pissed that he even pretends to care about civil rights anywhere unless it's for the purposes of pre-emptive war.

15. His "deep" concerns
The moron-n-thief first enables China by our participation and presence at the sham of these Olympics.
If there's anything "deep" at all about his interest it's strictly in how effective they are in handling dissent - a dream of this administration.
China's record in HR concerns is deplorable, as is ours recently.
I find it digusting that we now consider this beast (China) a favorable partner (do we have any choice financially??)
IMO, this is by design as much as it is by default (no pun intended).
China now represents a viable and respectable world economy and power. It's OK to lock up dissenters!
The idiot is there to get pointers, not to lecture.
