Bad idea in marketing: A Burger King commercial featuring a Mad Cow.
Edited on Tue Aug-05-08 08:21 PM by onehandle
I just saw this during the replay of The Daily Show. It features a guy eating their latest burger in a hotel room. The door bursts open and the voiceover says something like, "Don't cheat on beef." In the doorway is a cow which looks mad and issues a mad moo.

Burger King = Mad Cow Disease. You heard it here first.

No You Tube link that I can find.

On edit: It's a series. I just saw a different one with a Mad Cow head butting a station wagon containing a guy eating chicken tenders.

Mad Cow! Mad Cow! Mad Cow!

9. Now that you mention it, shouldn't it be mad cattle disease?
implying that it only effects female cattle might be considered sexist.

6. A cardinal rule of advertising
used to be "don't use any portrayals whatsoever of animals which are slaughtered by the client".

Although it's been broken recently somewhere else.

8. Apparently, they're trying to outdo their previous "worst ad campaign" ever,
the "Find Herb" debacle from the early 1980s!
