A Bayh VP Would Hurt Our Senate Chances
We would lose Indiana Senate seat, because their Governor is R.......:grr:

And we are on the verge of getting 60 Senate seats this year....:woohoo: :hi:
We need it to be Hillary, for a landslide

For Me . . .

. . . Hillary sews up Ohio, and I don't think she hurts in NM or CO. That's the sealer for me.

2. I am not a fan of Bayh and I think it would cost us big time. Another Dan Quail.
E Bayh would be another Dan Quail only this time for the Democrats. Please don't let it be him.

4. Bayh would be a disaster on a lot of levels
Edited on Mon Aug-04-08 06:37 PM by Mojambo
I'm no great fan of Hillary (or Obama for that matter)

At this point I wouldn't be much more disappointed if they just chose to put the two strongest players on the field.

Obama/Clinton.

But that would require a vetting of the Clintons that I'm not sure could take place.

5. But, Bayh can help reach out and build bridges with the pro-war neoconservatives and others who are
against peace.

This is a constituency which liberal and progressives have long neglected.

"Sen Bayh is a past recipient Henry M. "Scoop" Jackson Award for Distinguished Service from the neoconservative security think tank JINSA"

"The Committee for the Liberation of Iraq (CLI) is pleased to welcome Sen. Evan Bayh (D-Ind.) as an Honorary Co-Chairman. Bayh becomes the third U.S. Senator to join the committee after Sens. Joe Lieberman (D-Conn.) and John McCain (R-Ariz.) announced their participation on January 28.

The Committee is a neo-con group that was formed to propagandize the country into war. It boasted such illustrious neocon members as Bill Kristol, former CIA director James Woolsey, and even McCain senior foreign policy adviser and Chalabi-bamboozler Randy Scheunemann, whom Josh has been blogging about."

6. I don't favor Bayh as VP but your facts are a bit off...
Yes, the Governor picks the replacement. But the current Governor would have to be re-elected in order to replace Bayh with a Republican.

The term for Governor in Indiana begin January 1st. Bayh would not have to relinquish his seat until 1/19 or 1/20. A Democrat elected as Governor would ensure the seat remaining in Democratic hands.

We could use a lot of help regardless of whether Bayh is the VP pick to get rid of Mitch Daniels as our Governor.

7. This is my impression also.
The loathsome Puke governor, Mitch Daniels, is up for re-election. A strong Obama showing, especially with Evan Bayh on the ticket in Indiana, might sweep Democratic gubernatorial candidate Jill Long Thompson into office, leaving Daniels to pout on the curb.

Bayh, a sitting U.S. Senator, would not have to resign his seat until Daniels leaves office, meaning brand new Democratic governor Thompson would select his replacement.
