What happened to Seteria Brown?
http://www.armytimes.com/news/2008/08/ap_soldier_shootingdeath_080108/

This is like so many others. Young women are killed in "non-combat incidents" that are "under investigation" and rarely does any more information get released. If she had been killed by a gunshot wound to the chest outside a Wal-Mart in Aliceville, Ala. it would be "Police seek shooter in apparent homicide" or some such. But in the Army, in Afghanistan, it is a "non-combat incident."

Just look how many of these are "non-combat incidents"

ALICEVILLE, Ala. The Army is investigating the death of a 22-year-old soldier from Aliceville who was shot during a non-combat-related incident...Army Spc. Seteria L. Harris Brown died from a gunshot wound to the chest on July 25 while serving in Sharana, Afghanistan...

A spokeswoman at the Fort Hood, Texas, base where Brown had been stationed before deployment to Afghanistan, told the Tuscaloosa News in a Friday story that Browns death is still under investigation and it was unknown how long the probe would take.

Brown had been assigned to Fort Hoods 36th Engineer Brigade since February and was sent to Afghanistan in April... She joined the Army shortly after graduation from Aliceville High School in 2004 and re-enlisted after her initial four-year contract expired recently, her mother said. ... She had a 7-year-old daughter, Harris said.

She was such a sweet person, Harris said. Everybody liked being around her. She always kept a smile on her face.

1. Well, her funeral was yesterdaay afternoon,
but still nothing released. The family will eventually get a report, but the DoD will probably not announce anything.
