Oil Q's posted on Yahoo Answers: why trust big-oil owned party? Which is lie about new drilling?
I posted these on Yahoo Answers a few minutes ago. The response might say something about the state of public opinion (or at least how much oil companies and the GOP are paying their online shills).

At a time when big oil is gouging us at the pump, why would anyone vote for the party owned by big oil?

Big oil companies are demanding more drilling rights in the US even though they have millions of acres of leases already that they aren't drilling on yet, and are even exporting oil out of the US.

When someone notices we don't have enough refining capacity, big oil demands that taxpayers foot the bill for new refineries.

In return for all they demand, they make no promises, only say that market forces MIGHT lower prices as a result.

When we have an industry that is essentially holding our economy and foreign policy hostage, why would anyone vote for the Republicans, the party that gives in to all their demands and excuses all their bad behavior?

Can you explain how one of these statements by big oil isn't a lie?

Big oil companies have said that we need to give them new drilling rights in the Arctic and offshore with the implication that this will lower prices (even though government studies say it would take decades for that oil to come online and would lower the prices very little).

When Democrats noticed that big oil isn't even using all the leases they have in the US, including offshore and in the Arctic, the oil companies whined that they didn't have enough equipment to drill those EXISTING leases.

So which is true?

Do they not have enough land to drill on or enough equipment to drill it?
