People who believe the MSM is liberal. Some theories about this.

(1)they're thinking about content of some programs. For instance, COLD CASE, which I used to watch, had one show where two men got married and another about an interracial dating relationship. (I know it is fiction. I think many people find it hard to differentiate fiction from what is supposedly non-fiction on TV.)

(2)the fact that MSM is even talking about a subject such as gay marriage makes some people think MSM is liberal.

(3) Rush Limpballs says it is.

1. 40 years of the Right spewing the same lie over and over, meanwhile THEY OWN THE MEDIA!
and the Left just slinks away rather than justify their own existence. Too confrontational.

2. I agree. When we say "media" we mean the news.
But less politically engaged people think of the entire entity, including entertainment and even advertising. In a sense, they might be right. I credit movies and TV shows more than anything with the fact that attitudes about a host of social issues (such as gay marriage) are becoming more liberal.

3. easy proof that the media is "liberal"
1. Albert Gore III is pulled over for speeding in a hybrid car. By morning, already the butt of jokes - even on "lefty" radio shows.

2. Patrick J. Kennedy, confused by his meds, wrecks his car in the middle of the night. By morning, calls for his resignation due to drug abuse are all over the RW stations.

3. Larry Craig, militant homophobe, is arrested for solicitation of sexual favors from a MALE police officer. Becomes news months later only after he changes his plea from guilty to not guilty ...

4. Only the 'liberal media' keeps insisting the 'media' is liberal.
IMHO, TV commentators should have to wearing placards around their necks identifying them as a 'conservative' 'right--leaning', 'neutral' or 'liberal,' and -- most important -- the sign each broadcaster wears must be awarded to them by an appropriate authority.

Thus, only, say, the Heritage Foundation could label a commentator as 'conservative' and only, say, the ACLU could label a commentator a 'liberal.'
