I tell ya, the Right Wing Noise Machine is unprecedented -
I am watching Pat Buchanon talk about how well Bush is doing at 35% - hearing how Hannity was saying it should be Fitz who obstructed justice....they are tripping over their own lies. They are eating their own with such gusto that they've flipped truth and logic on its head. We are seeing the utter self destruction of the criminals on the right. I am amazed that the center has held for so long. It is simply incredible the spin - lie, lie, lie - it becomes the truth. The media becomes complicit by being the mouthpiece of the noise machine.

What fear could the Dems possibly have, in this environment, to NOT do what is right? Cut the funding? Go at and against Bush at every chance. This is simply incredible and unbelieveable.

More and more of the country is wise to their stupid deceptive ways every day.
We've never had such comedy before.

11. "We've never had such comedy before"
Yes we have. I'm old. I was around when Nixon and Gang imploded. That was quite satisfying to watch too. It was a hoot and a half watching that man fall apart.

3. You should have seen Kate O'Beirne in Hardball
Stating everything with a straight face.

It's actually pathetic.

9. My favorite from O'Beirne -- Yes, Perjury is important -- but Clinton admitted his perjury, and
Libby says he is innocent of perjury. Therefore it is not the same at all.

Matthews -- there are lots of convicted people in prison who claim they are innocent. . .

And she acted as if she just didn't get it.

4. The Only Potential Problem
Lies in the fact that the mass media still holds sway over many American voters. Repeat these lies ad nauseum for the next 2 years, and the 2008 election may not turn in the Democrats' direction.

Where I live, in the South, the radio waves are inundated with hour after hour of RW hate radio. Multiple stations carrying only Rush, Hannity, Boortz, Savage, et al. Total market saturation. These folks have spent 20 years demonizing the MSM. And to its discredit, the MSM has become a lame cheerleader of all things Bush.

Nevertheless, WE'VE GOT THE POWER. We need to use it NOW, to investigate, try, and convict/impeach the crooks who are being defended by these monumental liars. That's a major victory for America.

5. Craig Crawford must have joined them temporarily....Iraq might improve.
Things might turn out ok after all. Bush's plan may start working. Right, Craig.

6. Have you ever noticed with old Pat, the more excited he gets,
the higher pitched his voice gets, to where he is about to make his point, he is screaming like a little girl. Makes my throat hurt everytime I listen to him.

8. Actually I AM surprised
by the organization, intensity and sheer audacity of the right wing noise machine....they are better organized and more strident than I have ever seen them....

Our side was (is) no where near as prepared and as "on message" or message disciplined as they are....

I've learned:

A.) they had lots of time to prepare for this...the minimal time was at the end of the closing statements...
b.) when Scooter's team "tanked" the defense, it had to be because they had decided to go for their own version of "plan b"...
c.) as usual, the noise is to frame a narrative which will, in the end, be used to justify (even if only in their minds and to their "choir") some action...say...a pardon...

what do you think?

10. If you get a chance read this over at firedoglake: Libby The Coverup Continues
http://www.firedoglake.com/2007/03/07/the-coverup-continues-and-only-we-can-stop/

<snip>

Yesterday a jury of 11 of his peers convicted Scooter Libby of four felonies: giving false statements (lying) to the FBI, two counts of perjury (lying) before a federal Grand Jury and obstructing justice in the investigation into who disclosed the identity of a CIA agent. But the unamimous guilty verdicts by the jurors who actually heard the evidence did not matter to the Administration apologists who simply don't care about the evidence. Unlike Iraq, where the Administration apparently has no "Plan B," their supporters were ready with their response to the verdicts: control the media narrative, bury the obvious accountability moment, obscure the "cloud over Cheney," and more important, discredit the legal process and manipulate the eventual outcome. The coverup is in still on.

Last night those predictable apologists ran to the news programs with a massive disinformation campaign, starting with Fox News declaring the jury was "hopelessly confused" but focusing more on how "unfair" it was to poor Scooter Libby. TRex' late nite post reveals another example of the "poor Libby" theme carried out by the right wing. These were followed by similar attacks on the verdicts on CNN and MSNBC. The apologists were very clear about what they are trying to do. It is a sign of the arrogance and moral depravity of this regime and its supporters that they did this right in front of us. It began with Ed Rogers, who told Hardball's Chris Matthews that "Libby would never lie to anyone" and had been wrongfully convicted of lying. "Justice has not been done," he declared. Putting the lie to the notion that there is no connection between the Libby trial and any "underlying crime," Rogers inisisted that the worst "lie" being perpetrated in America today is the charge that the Administration lied us into a war, so Dick Cheney never had anything to cover up, . . . so Wilson was wrong. And then Rogers smeared Joe Wilson, again. He would be the first of several Bush/Cheney apologists to do that last night.

12. I find it incredible that these are the same people who scream for
the heads of those caught w/a couple of joints, those that steal a loaf of bread to have something to eat or those that "don't own up for their own behavior".

There are kids in prison doing hard time for a crappy marijuana bust that will do more time than Libby.

Some "Law and Order" party...some party of individual responsibility.

Hypocrisy, thy name is GOP.
