Scott McClellen & Tony Snow, a tale of two spokesmen.
As we only recently learned, Scott McClellen wrote a tell all book explaining his change of heart regarding being the spokesman for the most evil administration in U.S. history. bushco had several spokespersons, Ari Fleischer, then Scott, and then the bush's decided to get someone less robotic than Scott, with more personality and perhaps more bullheadedness in handling the pesky press.

Personally, I've watched all of them, including whats'er'name that they have now, and I've loathed them all. But I've more or less forgiven Scott McClellen for his Arianna Huffington-like turnaround, it seems to show some integrity and regret for having been nothing more than a propaganda parrot for dick cheney and his pals.

The bushco spokesmen, all of them, have done this country a great disservice, they have done great harm, and they have lied over and over and over and still do to this day, and if there are ever any punishments handed out for their master's treasonous and tyrannical acts against the constitution, and the soldiers, and the Iraqi people and the people of Afghanistan, and to all the people they have yet to murder, and to humanity itself, hopefully justice will be doled out to these 'spokesmen', who put words into the mouth of the stupidest and evillest man to ever soil the White House.

2. We talked about that when Snow took over, before McClellan went David Brock.
McClellan repeated the lies and catch phrases he was told to say, but he never looked comfortable. You could tell even then he didn't like having to lie. Snow, may he rest in peace, had no problem lying, even seemed to think it was virtuous. For McClellan it was a job, for Snow it was a crusade.

6. No, he was a true believer.
He was an ends-justifies-means guy. He campaigned for Bush in the media in 2000, and even back then seemed to be in on what they were doing. He was part of the clan.

7. I remember reading his columns in our local paper LONG before
the first Gulf War....

He just wanted to be on the side that was winning.

Total jerk. Lie, cheat, steal.

I agree that he was an "ends justifies the means" guy.

His end was just "winning" though.

5. I was thinking about people who've died recently and which ones got canonized and which ones didn't
Turns out that the ones who are beyond reproach are the ones who spun propaganda for Bushco. Tell the truth in a calm and rational manner about Jesse Helms all you like, but if you do the same thing with Russert or Snow you are evil, nasty, childish, an asshole, etc.

9. There's telling the truth and there's pissing on a grave while his family watches.
That this man was a liar, an opportunist, and any number of other epithets is beyond doubt. We do not refrain from crowing over his death for his sake, for he is dead and could care less. We do it for his wife and children, who have lost a Father and Husband, and who should be given time to grieve without having to have their faces rubbed into this crap. Ghoulish crowing over this man's death is not much different than what Fred Phelps tries to do at the funerals of soldiers with his "God Hates Fags" routine, it exploits a family's grief to further a political position. Good or bad, conservative or liberal, Democrat or Republican, we will all face death, remember this.

8. What's particularly interesting to me is that the only reason
Snowjob didn't attack Scotty for his book is because he was too ill.

10. Tony was lying for Bush long before he got the job though
I remember blasting him in a LTTE for a syndicated column promoting the Bush tax cuts.
