2. Imus knows just enough to be dangerous.
He knows something is wrong with the administrations story but he is too intellectually lazy to put all the "Joe Wilson is a liar" bullshit to bed.

12. Imus doesn't know squat
He's just an old prune in a diaper sucking nicorette and spouting lies.
His outraged libertarian act barely disguises
the fact that he's just another right wing stooge
sucking up to neocons and parroting cheney talking points.
Listen closely... he always twists the outrage
to benefit the crooks.. even his Walter Reed shitfits
heaps blame on Obama and Hillary.

Imus can go screw himself... with his own Viagra

3. You wouldn't have believed his constant knife in the back
"endorsement" of Kerry in '04. He'd always say he was gonna vote for him in a mumble and then go on this frigging tirade about how Kerry's campaign train went through his ranch and he had all the kids by the tracks and the train didn't stop. Sheesh. . .maybe Imus could have prearranged an appearance but NO. . .

So the kids were disappointed but they were set up by Imus not Kerry.

Have you heard him call Hillary "Satan?" Unbelievable.

The demonization of Wilson thingy is especially bothersome. He hasn't lied. These RW pundits who projected a litany of petty insults at him never even mention that Wilson confronted Sadaam with a noose around his neck in the run up to Desert Storm when Hussein was holding a couple hundred foreign hostages (many of whom were Americans) and said, "If you are going to start killing Americans, then start with me." The hostages were promptly released.

Woh. That guy has serious spunk.

5. There is a simple formula
that the Imus show uses in cases such as this. It is important to recognize that Imus, Charles and Bernard are what we might politely call "red necks." Thus, their target audience is going to be largely red necks, as well. Thus, Imus & friends are confident that the majority of people watching this morning had not been watching Countdown last night.

Rather, they watched Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity. Thus, most of the Imus audience is thinking, "That loud-mouthed blowhard Joe Wilson! He's the problem." Imus says the same thing for much of his show. That gets his audience interested. Then he has guests that to a certain extent correct the misconceptions that he sets up for them.

Let's look at just one example: he has been saying that there really was "no crime" in exposing Valerie Plame, because no one was charged with that offense. Howard Fineman responded by saying, "On this particular point, there's more here than we know." He said that Libby was lying to protect something, and he speculated that it had to do with VP Cheney's knowledge of the origins of the infamous Niger yellow cake documents.

While DUers have discussed this topic for years, the vast majority of Imus watchers have never been exposed to this possibility. Those red neck folks are not going to consider it as a possibility if it is reported on Countdown. They just refuse to consider it as anything but another left-wing conspiracy theory. But when they hear it on Imus, they consider it.

More, the formula isn't based on a single show. He will address the same general topic for a few days. And he will change his "opinion" on some things, though not on his dislike of Joseph Wilson. But that's okay.

6. Imus is dispicable, but....
Wilson's been caught in a few lies, and he was thrown off the Kerry campaign.
