Congressional Approval Falls to Single Digits for First Time Ever
rasmussenreports.com

The percentage of voters who give Congress good or excellent ratings has fallen to single digits for the first time in Rasmussen Reports tracking history. This month, just 9% say Congress is doing a good or excellent job. Most voters (52%) say Congress is doing a poor job, which ties the record high in that dubious category.

Last month, 11% of voters gave the legislature good or excellent ratings. Congress has not received higher than a 15% approval rating since the beginning of 2008.

The percentage of Democrats who give Congress positive ratings fell from 17% last month to 13% this month. The number of Democrats who give Congress a poor rating remained unchanged. Among Republicans, 8% give Congress good or excellent ratings, up just a point from last month. Sixty-five percent (65%) of GOP voters say Congress is doing a poor job, down a single point from last month.

Voters not affiliated with either party are the most critical of Congressional performance. Just 3% of those voters give Congress positive ratings, down from 6% last month. Sixty-three percent (63%) believe Congress is doing a poor job, up from 57% last month.

2. And aptly, Pelosi is the face of this Congress.
Cannot think of a person more deserving of this amount of disdain and contempt.

3. And no revolution.
Television is America's drug of choice.

That and lots of booze.

I would bet that most of the non affiliated who trash congress the hardest might have well been former Democrats, those who saw that the party had gone to the blue dogs.

6. Dear Nancy and Harry:
Edited on Tue Jul-08-08 05:40 PM by islandmkl
Do either of you ever think that some day, some way, your constituents may stop being part of the 9% and will actively seek to throw your conspiring asses (along with the other spineless bluedog-or-not dems) out and see if any democrats can be found with balls (and the female equivalent) to actually LEAD THIS COUNTRY??

You have done the bidding of the 'powers'...Bush gets what he wants and you act like you can do nothing about it.

Lick your greedy fingers and stick them up in the air - maybe, just maybe, you will become cognizant of the direction most of America want things headed.

Goddam, 2006 seems long ago, far away, and a total pile of horseshit these days...

You are losing us, and you don't think it will ever happen. I, for one, am betting on the American people. This shit has gone on long enough. You have no defense for your actions. I can only hope that your just rewards do not include leadership/activity in the democratic party for much longer.

Wishing you had done better,

islandmkl

7. Uh-Oh. Things can get nasty when the populace awakens from the snooze.
But, what the hell, let them eat cake.

Worked for Marie Antoinette....oh, wait.

9. When our senators and representatives pick the likes of Reid and Pelosi ...
... we're going to have those kind of numbers. I cannot a remember a time I've been so displeased with the ranking Democrat in the senate and house.

13. Well, that is the 9% that decides elections, you know
Obviously it's the person who pleases the 9% and completely ignores the 91% who wins elections.
