Local columnists in my old college town's newspaper gives Cal Thomas a right royal smackdown!
Cal Thomas's original article, in which he claims that all the poor in our country need to get themselves out of poverty is more of the "entreprenurial spirit."

The last paragraph really cuts to the quick:

Could we use more entrepreneurs? Probably. But Cal, if you want to help entrepreneurs, then read the results of a recent survey of entrepreneurs that found a major barrier to entrepreneurship is the lack of a national health insurance plan that would provide coverage to entrepreneurs' families during those early years when a business is lucky to break even much less pay $6,000 a year for health coverage. Drop the partisanship, come out to Stevens Point, and listen to our entrepreneurs.
