Text Messaging while driving now illegal in Louisiana & other matters
The Louisiana legislature doubled their pay this week and are still working on getting more money in their pockets via per diem increases and other avenues. Meanwhile Governor Jindal who didn't let 30 seconds go by before telling anyone who would listen that he had conservative values and by gawd he was going to clean up corruption in the state is afraid of the big bad legislature, gravely opposes the payraise but won't dare challenge the senators and reps. And thank god, he is being crucified on local talk radio. Put a fork in jindal boudreax, (the next ronald reagan) he's just about done.

OH YEAH, don't text message while driving in LA.

1. It's an unusual state.
I lived there for a couple of years and while they (rightly) banned text messaging while driving, they allow you to pull up to a curb store and get a frozen daiquiri to go.

3. You don't have to pull up to a curb store for a daiquiri-to-go; we have DRIVE-THRU's!

4. You had to get out of the car in the little town I lived in.
Getting a 101 octane daiquiri on a hot summer day after catching some specks down in Lake Pontchartrain was pretty refreshing.

2. Remember that Rethugs do exactly the opposite of what they claim.
Jindal learned the game well in Washington. Doesn't it sound familiar that the legislature went ahead & gave itself a huge raise after much negative publicity & after many angry LTTEs? This wouldn't have happened pre-Bush/Cheney.

Second Banana Is Available

I would submit that there is a collective sigh of "ugh" these days among the voters, aimed at Gov. Bobby Jindal.

He came into office less than five months ago riding a wave of warm and fuzzy feeling that the days of ugly politics for which this state is infamous were over. Now, what a disappointment!

Gov. Jindal can be bullied by the Legislature for anything they deem worth blackmailing him for. Our governor talks a good game, but he has no fight in him. This isn't a good precedent, people, regardless of the outcome.

I would further submit that if this governor doesn't veto that bill, his political future 'round these parts is on life support at best.

I wonder if we can petition Sen. John McCain to please take him. I don't agree with Lt. Gov. Mitch Landrieu on everything, but I do think he would tell the Legislature where to get off when need be.

6. Remember when he was running for Governor
He was a real badass and the most honest and most competent human being on the planet. The next ronald reagan according to rush limbaugh. That's all legitimate citizens need to know about the lil bastard who changed his name from piyush to bobby so white people would vote for him (regardless of his fucked up nonsense about bobby brady.) Great display of christian conservative values piyush.
