Okay.. I ragged on MSNBC because of the excessive week-long griefgasm, but in truth Russert did NOT "do" any of this.. all he did was DIE..

SO.... It behooves me to suggest that we ALL take a few minutes and write down EXACTLY what we want to "happen" to our mortal remains , when we leave...

What little I know about Tim Russert, leads me to believe that he would have died of EMBARRASSMENT, if he had not already died from heart failure :evilgrin:

Spell it out for the ones who are left behind.. tell them what you want..

Do you want the "Full-Russert", or something more modest ..

I have told my family that I do NOT want ANY funeral or memorial service, and I hope they follow my wishes..

I have lived a "cheap" life, and I see no reason to waste money after I am dead :)
People who loved me can still love me after I am dead..they do not OWE casual friends an opportunity to watch them grieve..

Casual friends can miss me or not.. I'll be dead, and won't care one way or another..

Real friends can think of me when they see something they know I would have liked..and that's enough for me :)

and i too want nothing...any money that would have been spent on the disposal of my remains should either go to my loved ones for them to use as they wish...a ditch with some lime so i don't stink up the place...

2. My plans are already on file at the funeral home

No funeral or graveside service. Keep my casket closed. People who care about me are coming to see me now and can remember me as I am while alive. I won't have hypocrites who didn't have time to even phone me standing over my casket saying "Doesn't she look good."

3. I have asked to be burned to ashes in my own backyard

I realize there are laws against doing that but for some reason having to pay someone to dress me up, put on makeup and buy a box so people can come and "view" my dead body, and then send me to a crematorium is stupid.

I'll be dead and I won't be impressed with a mahogany box (poor tree) that keeps my remains from decomposing for years either.

5. Dancing on my coffin

is what I want: a full-on party of remembrance.

Then I want my frozen corpsicle shot off into space.

and slapped a glass top on it..and was using it as a coffee table :rofl:

7. You know what?

I want to save up enough money to send my immediate family to a resort for a few days to "Grieve" with guava-berry cocktails and the local ditch-weed.

And I want them to tell jokes about me the entire time and have a good laugh at all the stupid things I've done and said.

That's what I want.

Oh and I want them all to do something I never did but always wanted to :P

My kids are to take my ashes to Jamaica, and let them fly-
Then kick back and relax.

I've always dreamed of taking them there - so we could all "feel alright"-

My oldest is 24- he's had my plans for the last 3yrs.

10. I want a viking funeral...

...at Niagra Falls and televised of course.

Fireworks.

A riderless horse that can swim and isn't afraid of fire.

Or heights.

I want a parade of bagpipers from chimpanzee through Australopithecus all the way up to modern man.

I want a choir of ancient Jewish and/or Italian women weeping indecipherably, but loudly and inconsolably.

I can the cops coming to shut the whole thing down after a knife fight breaks out between the chimpanzee and the other bagpipers.

I want it to happen a week before I die and all the pay-per-view receipts so when I actually do pass it will be in my sleep surrounded by hookers.

12. I am hoping

for one of two things:

{1} To be stuffed with hard candy and small toys, and used as a pinata at the calling hours; or

{2} To be cremated and the ashes used on our driveway on a slippery winter's day.

Knowing my luck, if they planted me in a coffin, I'd end up with a custom one equipped with a sink and sprayer hose and I've already washed enough damned dishes to last throughout eternity.
