I'm a little late to this shocking news as I am on the road in a hotel in Birmingham after being on the road all day. So, the first thing I see when I get to the room is that Timmy had died. I turned on the teevee to get the story and, after only a few minutes, I'm already dubious about all the Tim Russert worship and projection of praise about what a mangod he was to his peers and it's causing me to throw up a little in my mouth.

I'm especially disappointed in the KO and Andrea Mitchell segment tonight.

I'm sorry. I've expressed my condolenses in the LBN thread but all the syrupy praise about how he was fair and how he was honest and how he was the everyman's newsman and how he didn't takes sides and how he asked the tough questions and how he was non-partisan and how he...well, need I go on?

Despite how I may have felt about Tim Russert, I am sorry for his family and I sincerely hope he can rest in peace.

5. I agree it was shocking news.

There are opinions here at DU that range from one end of the spectrum to the other about Russert, but I think everyone has expressed condolences to his family and friends.
