Instead of just throwing them away.

7. Of course with a warning. It's not about anyone losing money, it's wasteful. There are plenty of

who would be willing to take the risk if it saves them some money.

a piece of fruit...

11. I didn't mention determining the risk. I said take the risk.
You are correct I am not trained to determine the risk, but I never said I would, just that I would like to be able to chose if I take the risk or not.

6. Because corporations would love it too much...
they wouldn't have to be responsible for people getting sick from their products. They'd have ALL of their products that way if they could get away with it.

9. Here's a better idea - INVESTIGATE why the tomatoes are infected
Do any of you in your lifetimes remember a time when tomatoes were considered a health risk??

Good thing tomatoes are not a regular part of the American diet.

I had a terrible stomach virus last week with all of the exact symptoms that the CDC listed for this tomato/salmonella poisoning. I do not know if it was a result of tomatoes (I am a vegetarian and eat them all the time) but I would not wish that on my worst enemy! it took a week to get over it.

21. I really don't remember
although I eat Roma tomatoes a lot. However I think it probably was just been a terrible virus not related to tomatoes.

I don't think that people should be buying discounted tomatoes and risking their and their families health. It's not worht it!

Thanks, I've had food poisoning before.
Personally, I hope everyone who thinks that's a good idea has a bunch of 'em.
Always been a big fan of natural selection.

And anyway, why sell them at a discount, if they're perfectly good to eat?
No point in wasting a perfectly good pile of money.

Firkin eegit!
