Mommas don’t let politicians kiss your baby
Edited on Mon Jun-09-08 06:20 PM by Cyrano
My own personal theory is that that many babies who are held or kissed by politicians grow up to be serial killers. And no, you can’t look it up anywhere.

There’s no better photo-op for any politician than to be seen holding or kissing a baby. Why? Because babies are innocent and an “innocent” politician is an oxymoron.

If you haven’t figured it out by now, my tongue is planted firmly in my cheek regarding babies kissed by politicians growing up to be serial killers. But hey, why take the chance? And why let your baby be part of a photo-op for anyone?

However, I’d sure appreciate comments from anyone who had nothing better to do with their time than perform a study, or write a term paper on this subject.

1. I think you have a point, but I like to look at it the reverse way:
if I were a politician, I would never kiss a baby. No, seriously. How the heck do I know where that baby's been? I might hold it up at a respectful distance, you know, the way you might handle a firearm. It could be loaded, and you should always take precautions. I have heard of babies being carefully coated with white powder on discreet areas...very suspicious.

At the bare minimum, I think having a picture of oneself being nuzzled by a politician could have an effect--egads--what if my parents had handed my innocent infant self to Nixon for a round of playful whisker-burn? And had the picture to use against me later? I think it very well could lead to some kind of furtive shenanigans, although I know I lack the attention span for serial killing.

2. Great observation.
Can you imagine anyone living their entire life with an infant-photo of themself floating around the net forever -- especially if that politician was Nixon, Bush, or Cheney? I don't think that even Freud or Jung could help such an unfortunate victim.
