Pretty interesting thread going on, a guy found Nazi tunnels on his property in Jersey on the Channel Islands.
Happening now, he's been updating the thread regularly.

He was a Merchant Marine and the ship was carrying supplies to Europe.

It freaks a lot of people out that they were so close.

here, they came ashore and got on the train towards NYC after burying explosives in the sand.


Nazi Saboteurs At Amagansett

It was June 13, 1942, just six months since America had entered World War II. In foggy darkness, four men got off a German U-boat in rafts, landed on the beach in Amagansett and began burying boxes of explosives intended to blow up U.S. power and industrial plants.

Suddenly, through the fog, the leader of the four, George Dasch, saw a light approaching. It was just after midnight and Coast Guardsman John Cullen, holding a flashlight, was on beach patrol. Dasch approached Cullen and said he and his friends were fishermen. Cullen knew night fishing was prohibited in wartime, and he grew suspicious when another man spoke in German. Dasch dismissed his comrade and thrust $260 in cash at Cullen. ``Take it,'' he said. ``Forget about this. Forget you ever saw us.''

Instead, Cullen backed away and ran to his Coast Guard station to alert superiors. Meanwhile, the four men rode a Long Island Rail Road train from Amagansett to New York City.

23. skimmed 72 pages...here are results

OP heard there was a Nazi tunnel buried on his property.
Investigated and photographed other nearby Nazi tunnels (which are being used for storage) as comparison.
Hired backhoe to open tunnel.
While testing out backhoe elsewhere on property, discovered interesting porcelen jar and a small granite trough.
Started opening tunnel.
Found Indiana Jones sized boulder partially blocking tunnel.
Moved boulder enough to peer into a hole to tunnel.
Got photos from inside of hole revealing that there was indeed a tunnel.
Decided to pulverize boulder in order to gain access to tunnel.
Dug out area around mouth of tunnel large enough to gain access to tunnel.
Tunnel turned out to be 60 feet long and wide enough to park a car in.
Found odd bits of junk to include barbed wire, a spool possibly for the barbed wire and a gallon sized can.
Sifted through an area of dirt on the floor of tunnel, found a possible trapdoor.
Thread's OP, (tunnel's owner) shuts down thread due to trollish remarks...ARGGGGH!!!

It is quite likely I am not the only one who wants to learn more...if anyone finds out anything please PM me with links!!!
