At this point - basically the democrats have been bashing each other in the Hillary - Barack fight - so he had the field to himself really.

I think yesterday - was probably his high water mark.

The republicans must know that.

3. You know I think we shoot ourselves in the foot as democrats -
honestly - we do. Many times. But that is just a consequnce of being free thinkers - we really don't march in lock step - it is a strength when it counts - ability to think for ourselves.

I don't want to be overconfident considering the last two elections - but - I don't think he can win this - we could lose it - but he can't win it.

It is up to us not to screw up, too badly.

4. Exactly!
A winning candidate would pull way ahead in the midst of such divisiveness in the opposition party.

Once America sees the intelligent, charismatic voice of the youthful Obama against the tired, old voice of the ancient McCain, they'll know who the better candidate is. One can only hope.

2. A couple of points occur to me . . .
One, you're right -- he's had free play to call the democrats fractious, elitist, out of the mainstream, whatever . . . and none of it has had any effect. I don't think he's a very good campaigner (or, frankly, a very good human being) and he could self-destruct at any moment.

Secondly, the Hillary-Barack fight wasn't nearly as mean or damaging as some would have painted it. Both candidates kept their big guns out of the game and avoided any impulse to frag their opponents. I know many of the denizens of GD-P consider the "other" candidate to be devil spawn who's invalidated any right to even be in politics (or the dem party), but I don't buy it. Historically, the primary battle was relatively gentile and professional.

I think we'll reap the reward in November.

5. Yes he should have
What's happening is that our infighting is not hurting us as much as their ineptitude is hurting them.

6. I thought today - would be very painful to read hillary posts -
and it wasn't.

We are not divided - at all.

He can't win - and he has to know that.

Try and "swift boat" this man - and he will kick them in the teeth.

I kind of do want Hillary with him really - cause I think when he kicks them in the teeth she will simultaneously kick them in the balls (excuse the expression).

He is going to lose this.

7. I have a feeling the "talent" in the GOP is sitting this one out
McCrazy is delusional, and no one of merit is on his campaign. That is VERY good for us.

Hillary will be a part of the Obama team. She has to be. Whether or not she is VP is up to her.

We shouldn't get cocky or dangerous now - this is traditionally when the Dems form their hallmark circular firing squad.

But if we can just run with this until Nov, we are in for a new start.

9. It is all good.
And as long as we avoid the circular firing squad - mostly - this is ours to lose.

There is one other thing I think but didn't say - I don't think congress is going to let go this time on the Rove matter. If the congress really does do the right thing -then doesn't that mean the Fox main political analyst could be in very very big trouble with the government?

SO much for Fox - isn't it?? They are screwed - and the gop just lost its "brain."

8. How long before the Republicans start saying "We want to lose"?
Just so everyone will see how bad the Democrats are and come begging us to come back! That one always makes me laugh.
