Brokaw on evening news tries to explain why MSM didn't do it's job during 'get IRAQ' drum beat.
Last night on NBC news veiwers were subjected to the spectacle of Tom Brokaw struggling to make excuses for why he and the rest of MSM didn't question the administration enough as Scott McClelland says in his tell-all book, just published.

for over two minutes (maybe three minutes total time) on the evening news, Brokaw being 'interviewed' by the current "I-play-a-journalist-on-tv" NBC Anchor, proceeded with a pathetic and embarrassing excuse making whine. Basically, Brokaw's excuse boiled down to "well, everybody thought he (Hussein) was a bad guy and all..." so Brokaw and MSM just jumped on the bandwagon. Brokaw said the CIA was "certain" there were WMD in Iraq. Bullshit. There was plenty of evidence around that the CIA was being 'worked' for the "right" answers to Cheney's questions. There was plenty of info about Challabi being an information source for hire. In other words he would tell people what the wanted to hear. Most if not all WMD experts AT THE TIME were very doubtful that Iraq had any viable nukes at the time. Some experts thought that they might be able to develop weapons in 5 years, but had none ready to go. And then there was Cheney's baseless assertion of a meeting between IRAQ gov officials and an Al Qaida representative. Come-on Brokaw, get real!

There was plenty of information around that could have lead to questions and just a little investigative reporting. But the MSM just chose to be a cheering section for the Neo-Con driven administration.

Come-on Brokaw, why not admit it. You were'nt doing the job of a real journalist you were just part of the public relations dept. for the WHite House.
