An email from a good Democrat,
Congressman Tim Walz:
May 28, 2008
Dear Friends,
Karl Rove, the man who masterminded two Bush terms and perfected the politics of personal destruction, is coming to Rochester, MN this weekend and he is coming to campaign for my opponent.
As you know, Karl Rove put me on a list of his top 36 targets back in March 2007 – just three months into my first term. Now, with seven months until the November General Election, Rove is coming to Rochester to support my Republican opponent.
Today, the Rochester Post-Bulletin announced Rove would be the featured speaker at the Republican state convention and "State Republican leaders plan to use the convention as a platform to promote the candidacies of Sen. Norm Coleman… and congressional candidate Brian Davis."
Despite their difficulties, the Republicans are focused on taking back southern Minnesota 's First District and will stop at nothing to do so. You and I know that the negative and reckless attacks the Republicans will throw at me aren't true, but we need your help to set the record straight with thousands of voters across southern Minnesota .
Karl Rove's trip to Rochester this weekend highlights how much money and effort National Republicans will spend in an attempt to take back this critical Congressional seat.
But I am confident we can overcome their negative and destructive politics, because while they have Karl Rove, I have you.
You are a crucial part of my campaign and your donation of time and financial resources will make the difference in who represents southern Minnesota in Congress. I bring effective leadership to Washington , not the politics of personal destruction.
I need your help again today. Please contribute $25, $50, $100 or more right now – help us send Karl Rove a message by showing him that people like you and me will make the difference in Southern Minnesota.
Thank you very much for your help.
Sincerely,
Congressman Tim Walz
