Just curious - how many of you actually traveled for the holiday weekend?
We didn't go anywhere and I only know one person from my extended social circle who did.

1. I power-walked 2 miles to the pet store.
Then I lamely-walked 2 miles to get back home, holding a bunch of goodies for my flock-of-a-family.

Does that count?

2. Yes, we drove up to the San Juan Islands
I did notice two things: 1) the number of boats on the water was WAY-Y-Y down. There were hardly any large pleasure boats. Most of the pleasure boats were smaller, and there were more sailboats, and 2) traffic coming home was much lighter than usual.

4. None of the friends I know went anywhere. I didn't go anywhere. Neither did my family.
It is simply a hassle to absorb the cost of travel.

10. i took a trolley 10 blocks to the wine & liquor store...
then hit the beach (gloating) a block from my house for the weekend...

i don't how people budget long trips, unless they have 'built-in' the screwing they are going to get...like guessing gas will be $4.10 next week or something...

24. Actually I have been known to take trips for a good screwing...
Something about hotels just makes it better :P

For our part we didn't do much.

We took the dog to the vet and the park on Saturday.

We were going to go hiking on Sunday but the dog was sick from vaccinations haha.

We were going to go to the zoo on Monday but my wife was sick. Monday night she says "Why don't we ever do anything any more?" :eyes:

15. I traveled, but not because it was a holiday weekend.

There was a concert that I wanted to see, but the tour didn't come to my state.

So I flew to New Mexico on Sunday morning, saw the show that night, and returned on Monday afternoon.

1,600 miles (round trip) to visit most of the family. We just could not afford to do it this year.
