McCain to Meet 3 Possible Running Mates (Crist, Jindal, Romney)

Senator John McCain is planning to meet this weekend with at least three potential Republican running mates at a gathering at his ranch in Arizona, suggesting that he is stepping up his search for a vice president now that the Democratic contest appears basically decided, according to Republicans familiar with Mr. McCain’s plans.

Gov. Charlie Crist of Florida, Gov. Bobby Jindal of Louisiana and Mitt Romney, the former governor of Massachusetts and a one-time rival for the Republican nomination, have all accepted invitations to visit with Mr. McCain at his ranch in Sedona, these Republicans said.

After a week of campaigning, Mr. McCain is heading home on Friday for three days without a public schedule. His campaign described this as a social weekend that would include a number of couples, and — as has been its policy it declined to discuss any aspect of the vice presidential search. “We don’t talk about the V.P. selection process,” said Steve Schmidt a senior adviser.

In addition to Mr. Crist, Mr. Jindal and Mr. Romney, Mr. McCain’s guest list includes some of top his political counselors, among them Charlie Black, a senior strategist, and Senator Lindsay Graham of South Carolina, his frequent traveling companion and probably his closest colleague in the Senate.

I'm hoping for Jindal, partly because I'm Indian-American, partly because Republicans' racist heads will explode.

2. Sounds Like The Dating Game
McCain: VEEP Bachelor #1...If I take you out to a movie, who makes the first move?
Mittens Romney: (from behind divider): I'm so smooth you won't even feel your pants gone
McCain: Cool...now VEEP Bachelor #2...whose your favorite boogieman?
Crist: I'd say Armajeenajahd, but I can't pronounce it...so I'll just say "libruls"
McCain: You might do...ok VEEP Bachelor #2...which brown-skinned people are the most evil??
Jindal: Aren't all brown-skinned people the same? Inferior?
McCain: I can see this is gonna be a long weekend...someone fire up the BBQ and get my press lap dogs...

3. A number of Louisianians would agree with you
for them, no price is too great to get him the hell out of the Gret Stet!

Do bear in mind, though, that "McCane" will be 72 years old in August. With that in mind, look these guys over -- and put the word "President" in front of their names.

:scared:

Oh yes, in addition to Lindsey Graham, also on the guest list:

Among other guests expected were Sens. Joe Lieberman, an independent from Connecticut,

4. How is he as a governor?
Has he done very much? Since he just took office last fall, I doubt he would be chosen. He is only 36 anyway. Hmm...We'll see.

thanks for the link to the blog. Cool stuff!

5. Haven't lived there in many a year
the name "KamaAina" means "local Hawai'i person".

As I understand it, there are basically two ways he can go with this -- boring technocrat, which might come as a relief to many after so many years of colorful but corrupt -- or Rovian protege, especially with KKKarl's fall from grace in D.C. So far, though, no signs that Turd Blossom is setting up a government-in-exile in Baton Rouge.

6. Jindal
Jindal was just elected as governor and he is in his first year of this term, and one of his first moves was to offer an education tax cut/rebate, basically towing the Republican Party line on gutting funding for public education. The irony of a Jindal governorship is that he ran on a platform of ethics, but signs are pointing to him running the governor's office much like Bush has the presidency (in secrecy).

He is literally a nightmare. This is someone that would awaken the sleeper conservative base that is sour on McCain. Think a brown "Dick Cheney" with the words Rhodes Scholar and Ivy Leage education attached.

The only reason they'd run Jindal is to color up the ticket, and "Bobby" isn't really his first name.

7. Here's what Billy-Bob Republic Party member thinks about these guys....
Romney: His religion requires him to wear strange underwear. I don't think I like that.

Crist: The locker room at The Ice Capades, comes to mind. No good.

Jindal: Yea..We could counter with our OWN... Black guy. OK.OK, sort of a Brown guy.
