2. We're as badly hurt as the country is hurt.
But never give up. Just keep speaking the truth and trying to educate those who persist in voting against their own self interest.

If we continue to assume we will win, we will not.
The US democracy can not stand any more republican destruction.
We must win the GE and restore the rights Bush and the right have taken away.
It's not the Democratic Party that needs to win, its Democracy and Freedom.

5. Other - If We Don't Win It Will Be Because They Stole It
again. And if American's are stupid enough to accept it then we get the government we deserve.

10. We (and the World) Deserve Far Better, Whether or Not We Are Able to Get It
We voted for Al Gore in 2000. That's the government we wanted and deserved. We got robbed.

We voted for Kerry in 2004. We got robbed again.

Most of the world's population lives under repressive governments. Surely they don't all deserve it.
It has more to do with the corrupting effect of power.

8. Some people are so deluded that they will reflexively cry voter fraud.
And refuse to acknowledge the failings of their candidate in the event of a loss.

McCain isn't a pushover, and he has as much of a chance to win as our candidate will.

To say otherwise is just wishful thinking.

9. I really hate your post,
.. mainly because its fairly accurate. McCain won't be a pushover, due to his popularity among the middle class, and the right's plan to continue to label Obama as an inept racist to "scare" the white vote away. stupid isn't it.. but it will work.. the question is to what degree. Obama is doing a good job lately confronting BS when it happens.. I hope he continues it.

And, anyone who thinks this election is in the bag better get a grip fast. We need to do everything we can.. a full court press if you will and we will need everyone. Cries of voter fraud will be as useful as a bucket of piss, so let's stay on target. (not that most here need to be told)

11. Mainly Because the Mighty Slime Machine Has Been Building McCain Up for Years
We are not running against McCain, we are running against the image of McCain that the Repiglickin' media has created.
The media ADORES McCain, and will do everything in their power to get him elected.
That means unlimited free airtime to any Repuglies who want to smear and slander and swift-boat our candidate, while our rebuttals will cost us $1 Million/minute (standard advertising rates).
Our huge fundraising advantage won't go far once this happens.

14. If the Dems cannot win this fall,
I fear it may be death of not only the Democratic Party, but also the democracy we have nurtured the past 232 years. God knows we may be looking for a new country that is a little more conducive to liberty.

16. Whoa... Is she running as an independent now?
And where did you get your poll? Fantasyleague.com?

If we lose this one we're ruined. We need both the congress and the WH to make the drastic changes that are needed.

There comes a time when the political games have to take the backseat to what politics is actually supposed to accomplish.

24. other: the party will probably come out stronger
but not because of our internal power, but because the republicans will have fucked us all so badly that people will accept the alternative grimly.

as a nation and a world? yeah, we'd be TOTALLY fucked. we can't take another extra minute of republican administration, much less four more years.
