Conyers: We're Closing In On Rove" - ‘Someone’s got to kick His ass...or go & have him arrested’

Conyers: ‘Someone’s got to kick Rove’s ass.’
The Politico http://www.politico.com/blogs/thecrypt/0508/Conyers_Were_closing_in_on_Rove.html#comments
reports that today on the House floor, House Judiciary Chairman John Conyers (D-MI) was overheard revealing his aggressive strategy for investigating Karl Rove:

Just off the House floor today, the Crypt overheard House Judiciary Chairman John Conyers tell two other people: “We’re closing in on Rove. Someone’s got to kick his ass.”

Asked a few minutes later for a more official explanation, Conyers told us that Rove has a week to appear before his committee. If he doesn’t, said Conyers, “We’ll do what any self-respecting committee would do. We’d hold him in contempt. Either that or go and have him arrested.”

Conyers said the committee wants Rove to testify about his role in the imprisonment of former Alabama Gov. Don Siegelman, among other things.

“We want him for so many things, it’s hard to keep track,” Conyers said.

1. So happy to be the first to kick this post. But Mr. Conyers
better not be toying with me. Because when I hear statements like this:“We’re closing in on Rove. Someone’s got to kick his ass.”

Well, I just want something to follow it-ACTION!!!!!

4. Wexler mentioned "inherent contempt" on Abrams' show the other night...
If I'm not mistaken, that's the form of contempt that comes with a big, burly bailiff who tracks down the contemptuous one and hauls him into the hearing room.

8. You understand correctly
That's inherent contempt. I guess I'm an optimist, but I keep hoping for that frog march.

However, bear in mind that if he's tried and convicted while the Idiot Dauphin is still in office, he'll either be pardoned or have his sentence commuted. It's actually better to wait until 2009 to prosecute him.

...once they get that greased pig in a cage.

6. I'm really happy to hear this, but I sure would like to actually see this come...
about. It seems that this Congress has made so many idle threats in the past, that I would have to see it actually happen before I would believe it.

10. I've got to say, Mr. Conyers, you do have a way with words, but
you never seem to follow your words up with action. I'll believe that you are going to kick Rove's ass WHEN I see him either before your committee, or held in inherent contempt (have him arrested).

I won't hold my breath.

11. ...
Charlie Brown: You just want me to run over to kick that football then pull it away to watch me fall on my back and kill myself.
Lucy Van Pelt: See? I have a signed document saying that I won't pull it away.
Charlie Brown: Wow. A signed document. Maybe this is the year I finally kick that football.

Charlie Brown: Aauugh!

Lucy Van Pelt: Peculiar thing about this document. It was never notarized.
