Dubya says the world ought to be angry at the slow response to cyclone
Guess them cyclones is mo important than them hurricanes, huh GW?

http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20080512/ts_afp/myanmarweathercyclone

YANGON (AFP) - The United States sent its first aid flight to Myanmar on Monday but President George W. Bush denounced the nation's military rulers over their slow response to the devastating cyclone.

"Either they are isolated or callous," Bush told CBS News radio in an interview. "There's no telling how many people have lost their lives as a result of the slow response."

He said the "world ought to be angry and condemn" the junta, which has been widely condemned for stalling the disaster relief effort.

(end snip)

The irony sometimes is stunning.

How many people died in Katrina, Chimpy? How do you know?

1. He should send FEMA over to show them how it should be done.
Does this even need a sarcasm tag?

When I heard Laura Bush talking about Myanamar the other day...their slow response, all I could think was "They wouldn't know irony if it hit them squarely between the eyes".

A "floatilla of aid" TURNED BACK from New Orleans
A group of approximately 1,000 citizens pulling 500 boats left the Acadiana Mall in Lafayette this morning (Weds.) and headed to New Orleans with a police escort from the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Department. The "flotillia" of trucks pulling boats stretched over five miles. This citizen rescue group was organized by La. State Senator, Gautreaux from Vermilion Parish. The group was comprised of experienced boaters, licensed fishermen and hunters, people who have spent their entire adult life and teenage years on the waterways of Louisiana.

Fearing riots, Guard rejects food airdrops
Authorities are avoiding airdropping provisions into New Orleans — the traditional way of supplying disaster victims — out of fear of sparking riots, a state official said.

Homeland Security won't let Red Cross deliver food
"The Homeland Security Department has requested and continues to request that the American Red Cross not come back into New Orleans," said Renita Hosler, spokeswoman for the Red Cross.

US won't let Canada help Katrina victims
Planes are ready to load with food and medical supplies and a system called "DART" which can provide fresh water and medical supplies is standing by. Department of Homeland Security as well as other U.S. agencies were contacted by the Canadian government requesting permission to provide help. Despite this contact, Canada has not been allowed to fly supplies and personnel to the areas hit by Katrina.

15. Wow. Psychopaths sure are good liars, aren't they?
They routinely tell such staggering lies that would cause any of us normals to furiously blush or stagger over the words.

But the psychopath has none of the handicaps of conscience, and thus Bush can tell lie after lie after staggeringly, Orwellian, transparent hypocritical lie with little damage to his psyche or what passes for a soul in a True Sociopath.

Just...wow.

Of course, we normals must remember that the entire history of human civilization, with some very small and brief exceptions, has been the Bushie-types using us like circus lions, and the very fact that we are brought to gasping silence by the audacity of the socipath's lies MIGHT have something to do with the fact that the history of human civilization is, with few rare exceptions, Bushies using the rest of us like dogs or screwdrivers.

I don't know what the answer is, but we have to stop being reduced to gasping, amazed silence by the lies of the sociopaths and FIND OUR voice. The voice of the Loyal America, the voice of the non-sociopathic normal population (and studies show that we outnumber the psychopaths by 8 to 1, and even when you add in their gullible Authoritarian Followers, we STILL outnumber them 2 o 3 to 1!) must be found and bellowed full-throatedly.

And we are running out of time to do it, before things are too far gone and we find out exactly what the Bushies have in store for us as their Penultimate and Final Solutions to the Liberal Problem.

20. Not irony. Bigotry,
willfully designed to stun, shock normal people into silent paralysis.

I cannot buy the notion that these guys are merely stupid and incompetent. I see a deliberate psy-ops strategy methodically employed to create so much cognitive dissonance as to render any opponents who still think rationally helplessly impotent in "the face of such evil".
