Slogan time - "For more of the same, vote McCain"
Maybe we can come up with some "If it doesn't fit, you can't acquit" type slogans that will stick to the McSame campaign.

Edited on Sat May-10-08 03:30 PM by HughBeaumont
"If 20 years of Republican world ruin has taught you nothing . . . "

Republicans: Here's hoping people NEVER come to their senses. Otherwise, we'd be in deep shit.

McCain: Why Try to Save America When it's Far Easier to Just Kill It?

McCain: Because Your Kids are Only Good For Fightin' Wars, Payin' Debt and Gettin' Off My LAWN!!

16. I Like Your Slogan!
Edited on Sat May-10-08 05:08 PM by VogonGlory
I like your slogan. It's short, pithy, alliterative, and taps into a lot of people's anger at where Buckaroo Bush and the Gee Oh P@@ took the USA.

Your slogan also deals with McCain's politics. The right wing-nuts would have a Hell of a time trying to convince even many of their troops that "More of the same, vote McCain" somehow slams McCain's military record.

27. From The Mouths of Babes--As The Good Book Says!
Edited on Sun May-11-08 07:21 PM by VogonGlory
From the mouths of babes, as was said somewhere in the King James version of the Bible.

Of course I'm also thinking about that fine patter by Groucho Marx from Duck Soup (I've called the incumbent administration the Duck Soup Posse many, many times)

Groucho/Rufus T. Firefly: "This is so simple a five year old child could do it!"

(sotto voce to an aide) "Go find me a five year old child!"

19. In the 1964 election
Barry Goldwater's campaign slogan was "In Your Heart You Know He's Right"!!

The Dems lost no time in responding to that slogan by commenting that "In Your Guts You Know He's Nuts"

Always loved that comeback!

21. Four More Years?
Any of these and all of these - Just Really Excellent.

THIS is what makes us great individually and collectively on DU. How clever and shrewd and alert and vigilant we all are. When we harness that for something really positive (and remember, this winds up by default benefiting EVERYBODY, no matter what party or philosophy you prefer).

ALL the thinking we do and the strategizing and ranting and otherwise issuing forth that we're all involved with here - helps to sharpen our planning, our reasoning, our ability to discern, react, initiate. It helps to sharpen us up. Because we hang here and yell and scream and snark and insult people's sensibilities and fawn and so forth, we hear and read a lot of good lines, slogans, superb summaries of issues and positions, funny buzz-phrases and nick names. Maybe you once didn't have a good comeback for an argument with some blowhard from the neighborhood, school, office, or whatever. Now you do! As a matter of fact, you have several approaches that will allow you to try out making 'em laugh, making 'em think, provoking doubt in old presumptions, breaking their hearts, moving their spirits, or firing them up to prove you wrong, dammit! Which they can't do because they vote republi-CON or they support mcsame or they think bush hasn't made any mistakes so whatcha belly-achin' for?, and their side and its driving philosophy are both intrinsically WRONG. Can't get around that one. They're wrong. Wrong for our country. Wrong for ALL the people in it, not just the well-connected, wealthy ones at the very tippy-top. Wrong for the planet we all share.

We have to remember the "all" part. Since we're all affected by what their side has implemented or tried to implement, we will also all be affected by what - presumably - Obama's administration will implement. We all stand to win.

From Day One we will be a very different country, a changed, country, an evolved country, a little more grown-up country. We're only about 230-some years old. Seems to me it is rather infantile to cling to prejudices based on color of external skin or gender. These are still issues that cling, but we really should be moving away from all that as a society by now, I think. We REALLY should be growing up and moving beyond that. Enough time has gone by. We'll wake up the next morning a different country. Imagine it - a kid who grew up from roots in the slavery of African Americans - who wins the privilege of taking the Presidential Oath of Office. That thought blows my mind!!! BTW - that same kind of thrill accompanies the thought of a woman - of the side of the gender equation that was regarded as property from the get-go - taking that Oath of Office next January. Brings chills!! EITHER WAY, we can celebrate as Americans because one way or another we've moved our country forward. We've climbed up another step. We're leaving one of the more stale of the old ways and old assumptions behind. We will have given ourselves a make-over, something to wake up to in the morning with an aura of hope and renewal in the air. We're not the same country we were just the day before. We're renewed, improved. EVERYBODY's gonna wake up in that country the next morning, regardless what side they were on.

I'm looking forward to how the rest of the world will see that new America. I think it can't help but be viewed as a VAST improvement. I think it will be well-received - even jubilantly received. People all over the world want us to be the America they love and admire from which we've strayed so grievously. That we indicate to the world that's who we are now and how we should be viewed - can ONLY be a benefit after the arrogance, imperiousness, greed, conniving, pillaging, exploiting, and meddling we've done over many, many decades.

And NONE OF THIS will be possible if mcsame gets in. NONE OF IT. That which already has driven about 80 percent of Americans to tell pollsters they think the country is going in the wrong direction will only continue, and an already dismal situation for most of America and the vast swaths of the rest of the world that we impact will only get worse.

This is why all the anti-mcsame ideas we can come up with are not only good or clever, they're damned important, even critical to our future. ANYTHING we can do to punch more holes in his levy the better. We're not just helping our candidate, we're damned near saving the country!!!

So brainstorm away, guys! Your country needs you!

23. I'm kicking this thread just for your post! So many truths here.
With the help of info I get here on DU, I'm striking back at the neo-con bullies in my world. I make it personal and caring as I talk about economy, Iraq, GAS, Texas oil men, Blackwater, etc, etc. There was a time when I would walk away from the blowhard bullies. AND I'm making converts - people are tired of hurting.

Right now we have an emotionally and mentally handicapped president. He has significant disabilities that interfer with his ability to lead. And I'm afraid that McSame is just that - the same. The Democrats have two HIGHLY qualified candidates. Either will do an awesome job. And we need to rally around the nominee and focus on his/her election. FOCUS That includes shouting from the rooftops about McSame and his...his...SAMENESS - FOUR MORE OF THE SAME, VOTE McCAIN.
