1. Is there an article/link that goes along with this as I'd like to see it too?
Thanks. Am I reading this right that there are least foreclosure numbers in dark red, most in dark blue? And they are numbers of homes, not percentages or costs? Thanks

4. I read it as vica versa
For dark red, there is 1 foreclosure for every 10-99 homes, and in dark blue there is 1 foreclosure for every 10000+ homes.

11. No, you have it backwards

In red areas, there is a foreclosure for every 10 to 99 households, which is 1-10%. That is the highest ratio.

I agree that the way it was stated is confusing and should have been done as a percentage.

2. To uppityperson - Other way around - red = highest rate of foreclosures, blue = lowest

It's pretty bad in areas that were recently booming, like the Inland Empire of Southern California; Clark County, Nevada (i.e. Las Vegas), and the Phoenix area.

6. Precisely
As recently as 2005 I had people trying to talk me into buying houses in Las Vegas to "flip" for quick profit.

I am SO glad I didn't listen to them.

7. I've put off a move to Arizona for about 3 years now
and if I wait another year, it is very likely I will actually pay the actual value for a house.

12. What a mess
Florida, California & Arizona look awful. I think we should all move to South Dakota.

13. There would be a shortage of houses in South Dakota. Of course
we could always build sod houses like the pioneers did.

14. I live in foreclosure central in northern CA.
The good thing is that in my area, prices have come by 36% since peak in 2005. No one was going to be able to buy a house again, except for well-to-do people who would themselves be stretched. This was a necessary correction, sadly.
