The Permanent Republican Majority Part VI

MONTGOMERY, ALABAMA – In two states where US attorneys are already under fire for serious allegations of political prosecutions, seven people associated with three federal cases have experienced 10 suspicious incidents including break-ins and arson.

These crimes raise serious questions about possible use of deliberate intimidation tactics not only because of who the victims are and the already wide criticism of the prosecutions to begin with, but also because of the suspicious nature of each incident individually as well as the pattern collectively. Typically burglars do not break-into an office or private residence only to rummage through documents, for example, as is the case with most of the burglaries in these two federal cases.

In Alabama, for instance, the home of former Democratic Governor Don Siegelman was burglarized twice during the period of his first indictment. Nothing of value was taken, however, and according to the Siegelman family, the only items of interest to the burglars were the files in Siegelman's home office.

Siegelman's attorney experienced the same type of break-in at her office

3. Make copies of your files and keep them in a second, third and or fourth safe place.

Thanks for the thread, lonestarnot.

P.S. Consider your phone tapped, if you haven't already.

4. Not a bad idea, but not the real problem
Unfortunately, what the burglars were probably after was information, not to remove the files. The upshot is that if you are a target of the government, you should arrange your privileged communications in person and an unbuggable place if possible (walking around a crowded park or inner city at random is best for this), and leave anything important that is committed to paper in a secret alternate location such as a safety deposit box taken out in the name of some old friend or distant acquaintance who would be able to believably deny being involved with you at all.

in your office or home.

7. What a country! Isnt this great that here in the land of the free, we...
have to even have discussions like these. They realize that everyone is asleep at the wheel or actually just too damn busy trying to survive to even pay attention and they are just doing whatever they want out in the open with no worries of any consequences. Its only getting worse, it doesn't just turn around without some kind of intervention. You would think that we only needed one revolutionary war in this country.

9. Worse than Watergate. WAY WAY WAY worse than Watergate
and it's BEEN worse than Watergate since before these fuckers stole the offices they now hold.
If there were a SPINE among the Democrats in this country, this never would have happened, because the Imbecile and Darth Cheney would have been impeached YEARS ago.
