Kristol: John "Purim is the Jewish Halloween" McCain Understands Passover
And this supposedly makes him the best candidate for president? Meshuggenah!

John McCain...understands Passover as a time for reflection about sacrifice: “As families gather together for Seders, members of the Jewish faith reflect upon the painful sacrifices made by their ancestors, the joys of freedom, and the triumph of inherent goodness over evil.”

Sacrifices for the sake of freedom, the triumph of good over evil — if John McCain was at a Seder this past weekend, he surely would have liked this passage: “In all ages they rise up against us to destroy us; and the Holy One, blessed be He, rescues us from their hands.”

1. McCain is right in a sense
Purim is in part the jewish halloween. Outside the US it is also the jewish Xmas (ie gift giving time)

Don't we have a lot better reasons to not like McCain than his interpretation of Purim?

4. I thought Purim was the Jewish Mardis Gras.
;)

This is a Kristol-hating thread, not a McCain hating thread. Of course, if you hate McCain, please give us better reasons than his cross-religious analogies.

2. The truth is
One of McCain's staffers who wrote the words, was able to copy it nicely from somewhere.

I really doubt that if you asked McCain to his face he would be able to tell you what Passover really was about.

5. Yeah, yeah. McCain watched "The Ten Commandments" and now he's an expert on Passover
McCain's favorite part was when Heston proclaimed: "You can have this staff when you pry it from my cold dead hands"

6. McCain = Pharaoh
Had Kristol been around during the Exodus, he probably would have been on Ra News Channel and in the Thebes times saying how the Israelites should be grateful for the Egyptians...all that wonderful food and accomodations. Gramps would fit right in promising a reward if the Jews made more bricks faster...then after its accomplished, joked that he was only kidding...but that they should fill that quota anyway. I have little tolerance for self-serving Jews like Kristol.
