He didn't want to do anything seen as compromising Fitzgerald's independence." Those approaches, Luskin said, came during fundraisers or other political events "in an unsolicited way.... 3. If I recall correctly, we speculated whether or not Fitz would be canned

rove couldn't orchestrate the firing because he was one of the individuals under investigation. It wouldn't have looked proper. That's the only reason he didn't follow up. I'm willing to put money on it.
