Democrats Accuse GOP Campaign Arm Of Covertly Writing Ad

By Paul Kane
Washington Post Staff Writer

Democratic Party officials said they will file a complaint today with the Federal Election Commission alleging that a conservative political group has illegally coordinated its advertising with a Republican Party campaign committee in advance of a May 3 special election in Louisiana.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, the fundraising and campaign arm for House Democrats, alleges that the script for a television ad purchased by Freedom's Watch, an independent conservative political committee, can be traced to the National Republican Congressional Committee.

Federal election laws prohibit the independent group from coordinating its efforts with the NRCC, the campaign arm of House Republicans, or any political candidate.

The Democratic officials said the advertising script carried an electronic identifier that shows it originated in the Republican committee.

"Freedom's Watch is coming to the NRCC's rescue. The problem is that they're doing it illegally," said DCCC Executive Director Brian Wolff, adding that the group's "own document clearly shows that the script of their ad came from the NRCC."

2. Freedom's Watch has been having some money problems
Here's hoping they spend the rest of their dwindling cash supplies defending their "non-partisan" status. And then they shutter their offices forever.

4. Screw 'Em...Turn Our 527s Loose!!
There've been some interesting articles about Ari's "Freedom Watch"...and how it's already become a mess...over at TalkingPointsMemo. Also, Gramps has already violated his own "campaign finance" reform. The FEC is non-existant (thanks to booshie wanting Otto Von Spasky on it) and even if they were "functional", they won't do much other than wait til after the election, issue a nasty report and maybe a $10,000 fine.

The RCCC is a joke this year...the RSCC isn't much better. Not many people want to donate to a party on the decline. Ari and his band of slimers will have to open up their deep pockets...and have to do it all over the country. It'll be interesting to see if they do throw the 250 million they promise around or if they, too, will see a lot of good money over bad go out the door that their spending will be less and less as the election nears.

What would be even more fun is a battle between these goons and "Club For Growth"...a proven loser when they come into a race.
