3. Time for Bush to do some more "jawboning"
He'll get those Saudis to open up the taps, just like he pledged to during his Presidential campaign. We all know how well that's been working out. :eyes:

Summer is still a dream away and they're starting the annual "shortage" already? This does not bode well for Bush's economic miracle, already in a tail spin. The American consumer can expect to be fleeced again this summer. I smell record profits for BIG OIL! Again. :grr:

6. When are the Dems gonna start busting heads on this?
I kept hearing about taxing profits and addressing the oil companies' gouging practices during the election run-up. Where is it? It goes to $50-something a barrel and barely a reduction in price, and now it's bouncing back up?:wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf:

7. same question from us
When are the dems going to do something about this.. very upsetting seeing gas rise so quickly.. we were out of power and staying at a hotel this past weekend...we went to check on our house and when we came back, the gas had jumped 14 cents in 45 minutes..so tired of the gas situation... why is it going up now??

8. I think there's a bigger problem
our dollar has become more and more worthless, so the real cost of items like gas goes up.

New England Town Prints Up Its Own Currency
By Stephanie Sy
February 2007
http://www.berkshares.org/press/07feb26abc.htm

SOUTHERN BERKSHIRE, Mass., Feb. 25, 2007 — Susan Witt is an unassuming middle-aged woman who drives a Volvo around her quaint Rockwell-esque town and has somehow managed to foment a small revolution.

After years of planning, Witt started printing her own money and spending it around town.

She is not a counterfeiter. She is the founder of Berkshares, a local currency that was introduced last fall in Southern Berkshire, Mass. (where Normal Rockwell lived out his later years).

"The Berkshares are pretty simple to operate," she said. "You walk into a local bank, put down $90 federal and get 100 Berkshares, and then those Berkshares are spent at full value at regional stores."

12. The "summer" mixture was just delivered.
The higher ethanol content supposedly makes it more expensive. Warmer states have it year round, and I don't know if prices are increasing there as well.

Any observations?
